About me: an iconoclast... heavily involved in music; i have chronicled the boston area live music scene for many years... from the early days of punk to the present on audio, video and photography... my work represents an important historical reference to an era of diverse and talented accomplishment both from the musicians to myself... With credits on recordings from bands like the real kids, the neighborhoods, the darlings, classic ruins, lapeste, two saints, stains, mighty ions, unnatural axe, nervous eaters, swinging erudites and others...
occasional kudos from the press, needing to be in multiple places simultaniously on occasion; sharing time with a few like minded visionaries, i enjoy being one of only a few in a small or large room with a killer band playing their hearts out; those few who were there shared a brilliant and serendipitous moment in history; lucky lucky us...
i would like to take a moment to share something important about when i started recording and a subtle bow to perhaps my most significant influence in music video... i cant take credit for jan crocker's aka felix kruell's excellent work as my predecessor, he was a few years older... he had access to mit's video equipment and the ellegant switching and effects that were cutting edge a few years before i got involved in recording... i really respect the work he did and certainly as he left the boston scene... my recordings and video took the helm and held fast the legacy of working with many of the same bands only slightly later in their careers yet equally significant in their own right being that my recording may be unique in their creative single camera documentary approach in contrast to more artsy multi camera effects driven music video... great stuff from a great video artist; jan crocker's site within: http://www.kinodv.net/movies/archive/
is powerful and persuasive... hardly anyone has seen my work. this will change i hope in the iminent future and give me the credibility to present great legendary and undiscovered bands as well as my own creative and ubiquitous presence.
i just posted a couple of pictures... let me know if you like them...
i am soon going to post additional video on this site but i need to pick some out, transfer it to the computer and upload it... that is a daunting task... keep checking back... if you are good at this get in touch asap. please note: when i do you can be certain that i will also post a copy of the written and signed release (see blog above). due to issues of privacy it is important that whoever this is relevant to respect the instructions in the blog about releases. thanks.

Artie, Thank You SO much for documenting the times of our lives. You capture the moments that make the memories. Someday, years from now, even MORE people will be grateful for the work you've done. An event, show, whatever, is always more of a happening with you there. Even now, I look at tapes you've done, involving me or my friends, some now forever gone, and find myself sending you a late-night Thank You. Don't ever let this sometimes unappreciative world dim your spirit. Keep Rockin. Keep Showin' up, and Keep up the GREAT work. You are indeed loved. BB
Arthur,I am so sorry for not giving you the props you deserve last night. My mind got focused on the fact that DMZ were cut short 5 songs and I was pissed at the crowd's lack of support (no encore). There was plenty of time left as well. Your dedication and perseverance is well noted by many. Keep up the good work. Boston Rock is grateful.
We just put up free collection of tracks from all of our album releases, including the Lickets: Journey In Caldecott, and Mary St John: Some Leaves Turned Red, Some Still Green. Feel free to share.
Both have recently run out so we decided to release all of the recordings on a dvd along with some of the films. Full release is online or at Amoeba in Berkeley and San Francisco. Thanks!
