Using his wit, charm and incredible voice, Greaseman has been producing radio that has lived on in the hearts and minds of his listeners for years. He is the man who makes truly memorable, compelling radio like no other..
Doug Tracht was born in the Bronx and attended Ithaca College in upstate New York. He was getting involved at the college radio station, WICB FM, when a colleague commented that he "was cookin' with grease," and the Greaseman was born. He found work at commercial station WTKO in Ithaca and continued perfecting his act at WENE Endicott; WAXC Rochester and WRC Washington. Grease was hired to host WPOP's morning show. He portrayed a hick farmer "from cow country." During this time, he perfected his theater of the mind style, bringing his own special, laughable world to the airwaves.
From there, Grease landed at WAPE Jacksonville where the act became more contemporary and filled with innuendo. While DJ'ing in Jacksonville, he worked briefly as a police officer in order to make extra money, which later became the inspiration for one of his recurring characters -- the 'Lawman'. Imagine the shock of his co-workers when Grease walked into the station wearing his uniform, complete with a .44 at his hip.
After seven years in Florida, he returned to Washington at WWDC FM to replace the fired shock jock Howard Stern. Grease maintained Sterns number one ratings, and went on to surpass them.
Soon, Greaseman moved to Los Angeles to launch a nationally syndicated music/comedy show from 1993-98, which was aired on WXRK New York among other stations. After 4 years in L-A, where Grease did several movies and a play, he returned to the D-C area he loved so much to take the helm of WARW. He brought the stations its best ratings ever using a combination of topicality and comedy bits.

Hello Well if you are reading this and I sent it to you then it is because I recognize you as a valuable member of the Swirl team and I think you are in a position to help out the band you befriended one more time. We need your immediate, but very easy help. As you may or may not already know Swirl has been picked up by Victoria Seeger Mgmt. If you are unfamiliar with her very impressive resume I invite you to visit the Swirl my space page and see where Victoria is listed in the bands Top Friends list. Click on it and read away, but be forwarned she has a long and distinguished career. I have been told that Swirl has been offered a very big touring opportunity and when I say big I mean HUGE. A once in a lifetime opportunity to keep the band touring with some very well known names for as long as 9 months...BUT the people offering Swirl the opportunity through Victoria want to see more traffic onour my space site. We need to grow in online presence fast! If you are already a "myspacer" and have not joined our friends list please do so. If you are a myspacer please get as many of your friends/ listeners to come to the site (visit the site and if they like what they are hearing please ask them to befriend Swirl). Currently we are just under 30000 visitors and 2400 friends. Not too bad since we started the campaign introducing Al as the new singer (with new songs "Adrenaline" and "Sleepwalker" featuring not only Al singing, but Fred Coury from Cinderella playing drums on those tracks). Hey thanks! Glad you like it! Yeah,...we know..lol....it is a tall order, but we think when we are done recording the album (very soon) if we can't land a permanant guitar player, we will just hire somebody to tour like alot of bands are doing today...
