Classic rock, acoustic music, blues, jazz, classical...
Since I was a music teacher I've been influenced by everything I've listened to basically. All the good stuff, anyway
Neye Benziyor?
Some (like CD reviewers) say Joan Baez, Ani DiFranco, Liz Phair, Phoebe Snow, Tracy Chapman, The Roches - quite a mix of styles.
"Apotheosis" (2002) is what I call "eclectic-acoustic" - the tunes don't fall under one category aside from all being performed on acoustic guitars. Some sound bluesy, others more folk-rock, yet others are just simply relaxing. And don't forget your sense of humor. The reason there's a warning label (& we were placed in the Folk section at Borders Books back in the day - I have pics) is because of "Party", who our California brothers and sisters are way more tolerant of than in say, Des Moines. I had to censor my own performances in the Midwest (the show must go on) and direct people to my website if they wanted to hear the whole song. Herbs are so controversial. Though I must admit Ken & Andy did use one somewhat socially unacceptable word in passing in their spot. I just could not cut it out for the sake of politics because the comedians sounded so great in the moment and I didn't want to break their creative flow.
"WAKENING" (2004) has more of a classic-rock flavor throughout, influenced by my heroes popular in the 70's and staples in my big brother's record collection. He used to pay me back the money he borrowed from me as a teenager in used records - that's how I started my own collection. The Who, Eric Clapton, Dire Straits, Neil Young, Jethro Tull, Steve Winwood and others influenced the sounds I wanted to hear on this collection of songs intended to shift energy from negative to positive - that's really what we need to see in the world RIGHT NOW. And you can help by purchasing Artmuse Records CDs and supporting local artists.
Julie Larson started an indie label in 2001 to promote her projects and other talented local artists through them. We've completed three releases: Julie Larson "Apotheosis" (2002) - a collection of 14 eclectic-acoustic originals, Pat Nevins "Shakey Zimmerman" (2003) - covers of Bob Dylan & Neil Young tunes featuring Barry Sless, Bill Laymon & the original drummer of the Dark Star Orchestra, and Julie Larson "WAKENING" (2004) - 10 classic-rock flavored tunes with Pete Sears, Tal Morris and Bill Laymon.
Artmuse Records' CDs have been played on the radio nationally and internationally. Maybe you've heard a spin on college or public radio...
Julie plays mostly solo acoustic when she travels playing shows across the US. She's been welcomed by fans in the Southwest, Northwest, in NY and everywhere in between. There's talk of a band forming to play some local gigs - maybe we can talk them into a little travel when the time is right!

Tom Ammaniano (state assemblyman from San Francisco) just introduced a
bill into the state assembly to tax and regulate marijuana as we do
alcohol -- i.e., it would be legalized, taxed, and regulated. Like
alcohol, sales would be limited to folks over 21, penalties would be in
place for dui, sale to minors, etc. in other words, it sounds like the
right approach. The bill's official number is AB390, and more info will probably be available soon at www. norml. org and www. mpp. org.
If you have a minute, call and/or email your state assembly person and
Senator to encourage them to support the bill. You can look up their
contact info online based on your zip code:
http://www. legislature. ca. gov/port-zipsearch. html.
Feel free to pass this along. The bill is fighting an uphill battle
against a vast legacy of misguided and uninformed policy, and it will
only have a chance of passing if people speak up in favor.
This bill will provide California with one billion dollars of revenue each year (each ounce is taxed $50)

Appena sarà tutto pronto ti faremo sapere.
Felice Anno Nuovo. Dio ti benedica ancora, grazie. Suonate il blues più che
