About me:
I grew up just outside of Detroit, starting out as a kustom pinstriper and sign artist. I have a great love and appreciation for vintage ad art - so much so that much of my art is sometimes mistaken to be 40 or 50 years old. Working primarily in enamels, I also use 23 carat gold leaf in much of my art. My subject matter includes campy vintage television or movie characters, cult monsters, tikis and shrunken heads - usually with a different spin than one would expect. My art shows in galleries from the east to the west coast of the U.S., and has shown in limited places around the world. I've designed a collection of specialty mugs by Tiki Farm, as well as a line of Hawaiian souvenir figurines. There is also a line of vintage style tin and wooden pub signs which bear my art and are sold in stores worldwide. You can check out my artwork at www.samgambino.com.
