About Me
I'm vary liberal minded easy-going Zen Buddhist person that lives in So. Californian. I live about a mile and a half from the coast and enjoy long romantic walks off the short local pier. I'm not much of a swimmer any more so...there could be problems and I got lots of those...LOL. I'm rebuilding this page so I'll be adding more stuff as I still keep trying to rack my brain with HTML/CSS jazz. I've got something going with this page that I don't understand, but that's normal for me as I don't understand much anymore...LOL.

What is the Pagan secret that Christianity has tried to keep from you? The truth about Christmas is that it is not Christmas at all. It is the Winter Solstice, a Pagan holy day observed around the world and since time immemorial from the Native American tribes, to the Norsemen, to the ancient Romans, and today by modern Pagans, Witches and Wiccans. http://www.witchology.com My Double Trouble Addiction Otherwise known as someone that has a duel-diagnosis: a psychiatric and addiction disorder. Having a mental illness has opened some door in recovery that I would not have had access too. That being groups and personal counseling at the county behavioral health clinic. There I was able to integrate cognitive behavioral therapy into my addiction treatment. That at first did begin a conflict with the A.A. modality of addiction treatment. However I was able to use the infinite wisdom of a common saying heard in the rooms: "take what you need and leave the rest". I applied that saying that to the whole of the A.A. program. It works if you rework it. My addiction treatment program looks like the following list. I see my program as a way to live peacefully with others and with myself. To also bring me into an overall sense of well-being. A.A. D.R.A. Effectively cope with stress. Exercise. Group counseling and or 12-Step meetings. Learning about addiction and relapse. Living purposefully. Managing emotions. Meditation. Personal counseling. Proper nutrition. Sober friends and relationship. SMART Recovery. Zen Buddhism.
All I can do is my best, after its progress 'one day at a time' and not perfection. No matter what I believe or think about my condition really has no effect unless I change my behavior. In my addictive past I would want to stop my alcohol addiction and I truly believed I could yet until I changed my behavior not much happened. I think I had to suspend all my beliefs in order to act. Then as my new actions, like not buying beer, this would foster new perceptions based on my action. As my actions changed in a positive direction and became more regular so did my beliefs about my self. The longer I acted in a direction that brought me closer to a heather lifestyle the easier it was to act.
"Perception is naturally surpassed toward action; better yet, it can be revealed only in and through projects of action. The world is revealed as an "always future hollow", for we are always future to ourselves." ~Jean-Paul Sartre, Being and Nothingness.

The 12 Steps of Liberation 1. The truth of suffering. We experienced the truth of our addictions that our lives were unmanageable suffering . 2. The truth of the origin of suffering. We admit that we craved for and grasped onto addictions as our refuge. 3. The truth of the end of suffering. We came to see that complete cessation of craving and clinging at addictions is necessary. 4. The truth of the path. We made a decision to follow the way of liberation and to take refuge in our wakefulness, our truth, and our fellowship. 5. Right view. We made a searching and fearless review of our life. We are willing to acknowledge and proclaim our truth to ourselves, another human being and the community. 6. Right thought. We are mindful that we create the causes for suffering and liberation. Our goodness is indestructible. 7. Right speech. We purify, confess and ask for forgiveness straightforwardly and without judgment. We are willing to forgive others. 8. Right action. We make a list of all persons we harm and are willing and able to actively make amends to them all, unless to do so would be harmful. 9. Right livelihood. We simplify our lives, realizing we are all interconnected. We select a vocation that supports our recovery. 10. Right effort. We realize that continuing to follow this path, no matter what, is joyful effort. 11. Right mindfulness. Through meditation and action we will follow the path of kindness, being mindful moment by moment. 12. Right concentration. Open to the spirit of awakening as a result of these steps, we will carry this message to all people suffering with addictions.
1. We admit we were oppressed by religion and that our lives had become incomprehensible and unmanageable under the guise of faith. 2. We came to understand through common sense, education and critical thinking that our own inner strength can restore us to sanity and help us break free of the tyranny of religion. 3. We made a decision to accept complete responsibility for our lives and our will, instead of giving that free will to a god that never made sense. 4. We made a fearless searching inventory of ourselves and our beliefs, and discarded what was not logical and not ours. 5. We admitted to ourselves and others the true nature of our beliefs, stripped of the lies of faith and religion. 6. We were entirely ready to remove the illogical defects of skewed faith from our beliefs through education, common sense and critical thought. 7. We humbly realized we are all human and make mistakes, and take personal responsibility for our shortcomings, and strive to be a good person. 8. We made a list of all beliefs that have harmed us and those around us, and willingly removed them from our lives. 9. We made direct amends to all persons we tried to control with religious indoctrination. 10. We continue to take personal inventory of ourselves and our beliefs through logical thinking, and when we are wrong, learn from our mistakes and correct them accordingly. 11. We sought through education and critical thinking to improve our understanding of our developing beliefs and disconnection from religion, empowering ourselves to carry out our renunciation of faith. 12. Having had an intellectual awakening as a result of these steps, we carry our lack of faith humbly and consciously, and offer to educate others when they are ready to break free of the tyranny of religion, and to practice these principles in all our affairs.

Anti-War Start drafting SUV drivers now. Who Would Jesus Bomb? Say can you see my democracy? War is expensive, peace is priceless. Anything war can do, peace can do better.

Favorite Quotes "God is a metaphor for that which transcends all levels of intellectual thought. It's as simple as that." "Every religion is true one way or another. It is true when understood metaphorically. But when it gets stuck in its own metaphors, interpreting them as facts, then you are in trouble." "I don't have to have faith, I have experience." "Life is without meaning. You bring the meaning to it. The meaning of life is Whatever you ascribe it to be. Being alive is the meaning." "When we quit thinking primarily about ourselves and our own self-preservation, we undergo a truly heroic transformation of consciousness." "The religious idea of God cannot do full duty for the metaphysical infinity." "Zen does not confuse spirituality with thinking about God while one is peeling potatoes. Zen spirituality is just to peel the potatoes." "How is it possible that a being with such sensitive jewels as the eyes, such enchanted musical instruments as the ears, and such fabulous arabesque of nerves as the brain can experience itself anything less than a god." "Really, the fundamental, ultimate mystery -- the only thing you need to know to understand the deepest metaphysical secrets -- is this: that for every outside there is an inside and for every inside there is an outside, and although they are different, they go together." "If we learn to open our hearts, anyone, including the people who drive us crazy, can be our teacher." "There's a reason you can learn from everything: you have basic wisdom, basic intelligence, and basic goodness." "A further sign of health is that we don't become undone by fear and trembling, but we take it as a message that it's time to stop struggling and look directly at what's threatening us." Atheism is a non-prophet organization. Don't sweat the petty things and don't pet the sweaty things. Just cause you got the monkey off your back doesn't mean the circus has left town. Have you ever wondered why Republicans are so interested in encouraging people to volunteer in their communities? It’s because volunteers work for no pay. Republicans have been trying to get people to work for no pay for a long time. “One thing leads to another”? Not always. Sometimes one thing leads to the same thing. Ask an addict. (on religion) "This so-called new religion is nothing but a pack of weird rituals and chants designed to take away the money of fools. Now let us say the lord's prayer 40 times, but first let's pass the collection plate." - Rev. Lovejoy "Prayer has no place in the public schools, just like facts have no place in organized religion." - School Superintendent on "The Simpsons" episode #100, 1994 "Science is like a blabbermouth who ruins a movie by telling you how it ends! Well I say there are some things we don't want to know! Important things!" - Ned Flanders "I'm normally not a praying man, but if you're up there, please save me Superman!" - Homer Simpson Religon
