Stoll Vaughan has made a name for himself as a reputable, young songwriter. With an expressive rustic style, profound lyrics, and a resonant voice, Vaughan’s identity is carried by a timeless authenticity all his own. Born in Kentucky, his music embraces his own style, although he has been favorably compared to the likes of early Springsteen and Townes Van Zandt. After the release of his fi rst record “Hold on Through Sleep and Dreams” in 2005, Vaughan gained national recognition through air play on the AAA and Americana Radio formats. Garnering a spot on Americana Radio’s Top Ten Chart, he was also highlighted as a guest on “Billy Block’s Western Beat,” “WFPK’s Live Lunch,” and “Woodsongs Old Time Radio Hour.” The album was also named one of Performing Songwriter Magazine’s DIY top twelve records of 2005.

About me: Art on the Rocks, the Birmingham Museum of Art’s wildly popular after-hours event, is entering its fourth year. Full of art, music, food, drinks and fun, these summer nights thrill guests with the energy of the Museum and the spirit of downtown Birmingham.
Art on the Rocks not only provides a unique gallery viewing experience, but also showcases emerging musical talent on the verge of making it BIG. (Past performers include Augustana, DJ Logic, Lori McKenna, Todd Snider, Tift Merritt, Mindy Smith and Alejandro Escovedo.) Hands-on art activities created especially for adults, specialty drinks, great food, a gallery scavenger hunt and a wide variety of changing exhibitions combine to form one totally hip, culturally-driven night.

We get the dance floor moving again this Saturday May 10 at our Salsabor party at Workplay in Birmingham. WorkPlay is located at 500 23rd Street South in Birmingham. This party is still Birmingham's one and only place for Latin dancing.
