Dr. T: acoustic and electric guitars, keyboards, drums ****************?******

Rev. Paul: acoustic and electric guitars, keyboards, drums********************
Influences
From Dr. Ts perspective, his personal favorites probably had the most influence: the Kinks, the Beatles, Grateful Dead, Bob Dylan, Buddy Holly, Sam Cooke, Dion, Todd Rundgren, Brian Wilson, Lou Reed, Neil Young, Traffic. Lately, Ive been revisiting the early Moby Grape albums and listening to recent recordings by John Cale, Leanard Cohen, Ray Davies, Dave Davies, Joni Mitchell, Steve Winwood, and the Indigo Girls. Of the next generation bands, I think that Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, and Pearl Jam are all great. And I shouldn't forget folks like Warren Zevon, Nils Lofgrin, George Harrison, Robert Hunter, NRBQ, The Fugs, and The Holy Modal Rounders. I could go on. Tha Baron Rev. Paul have similar tastes, but would no doubt add and subtract some, and are more current with the newer generations of bands.
Sounds Like
Elvis, the Beatles, Bob Dylan, Frank Sinatra, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Bach, Nirvana, Ray Charles, BB King, Coldplay, and, well... Alright, just kidding. Not sure who we sound like, other than the Art Punk Band.
The Art Punk Band consists of Dr. T, Tha Baron, and Rev. Paul. The band is unique in several ways: first they have no recognition of how the music industry really operates. They do not even consider their songs in terms of genre. Second, band members are from different generations, and their listening and playing interests range from traditional folk, blues and jazz to modern pop, classic and alternative rock, new wave, grunge, and alternative punk—and the rock explosion that began in the 1950s, and continued with the Beatles (and Kinks) and the British invasion in the 1960s that spurred the renaissance of creativity and impact on popular culture.
Ray Charles once said that there were only two types of music in this world—good music and bad music. When people wondered how Ray could participate with so many musical styles, he would indicate, “because the music was good”. The Art Punk Band is mostly an "originals" band with all three members writing, singing, and playing guitars, keyboards, drums, and other instruments. I hope you find the music of the Art Punk Band is good. Feel free to leave a message on my wall.

The band continues today because of the internet. Band members reside and play music in different parts of NY State. But there are frequent visits, and the music studio will likely see continued activity for some time. Because of possibilities opened up for music by the digital universe, this band will go on. There are close connections among the players of the Art Punk Band and the music they create is unique. The Art Punk Band is organized around principles and values of progressive cooperative enterprises--each participating member retains full rights to individual creative contributions, and shares equally in joint creative contributions. There are never band arrangements involving legal contracts or formal commitments for creating, playing, or recording music. There is no intention of going in that direction. Instead, we will to play music together when the time is right--and when it sounds good—we will record it.

-"The Mouse Christmas" is an 8 minute instrumental piece that was written for fun and for the holidays. It was on the MySpace page for a week or so until it was taken off to make room for --"Five Years", a new song which was written and sung by 'ThaBaron".
We decided to also release "The Mouse Christmas" on the Creative Commons music site--submitted before Christmas, and finally available to listeners on Dec. 28.

A review of the song was written for the music site on the following day, as copied below:
Interesting, Experimental, Folk, Alternative

I liked this experimental, folk, instrumental, alternative, electronic sound track. It had diversity and had that Individuality sound to it, that made it stand out so well.

Well the season is near, so much to do, Scrambling around in these old scruffy shoes, Time to find something for you, you and who knows -- maybe this thing will do. I need money for Christmas, I bet you do too. What should I buy, what should I do, I found Dr. T, to ask what he wanted... all he said was... it's Good to Be Back, and I found Tha Baron, Tha Baron said Corn Whiskey, "Corn Whiskey is Better than Bread" I found Rev. Paul, and Rev Paul said... "Stop Shopping, Go to The Park, chase those money lenders out of the Park." LIVE 2009<
