I always did like keeping my eyes on the horizon. It's where all the best sunrises and sets happen; staring towards it makes me look pensive; and it even staves off seasickness. Yet, most importantly, watching the horizon gives me the opportunity to look cool and the opportunity to ultimately say "I told ya so" when something I happen to have stumbled across before most actually comes to fruition. That being said, I've come to you, lovely readers of SO.AM., today with news of a rising storm I've spotted off in the distance, a slowly building sonic force that's filling Cambridge, MA with bootstompin' and hip twistin' rock n' roll. That force is a sometimes 3, sometimes 5, but always 2 part self-described artsexdeath party, VIVA VIVA.
I caught wind of these cats at Cambridge's own Middle East as they opened for those crazy Canucks, Fucked Up, and I'm almost tempted to say I was more anxious to buy Viva Viva's album than Fucked Up's... almost. However, turns out these handsome young rockers didn't even have an album out to review, not yet at least. So until they get them recordings pressed, you kids check out their myspace, check out the video, and, if you're in Boston, North Hampton, or NYC, go watch them stomp and jerk around the stage for yourself.
...I'll say 'I told ya so" later...
