NFIA presents: "Independent earth" A second look... with 50 artists in Long Beach, California SEPT. 7TH & 8TH -- 5PM-10PM
Introducing the NFIA, a community based non-profit organization of associated artists. The NFIA will provide a platform in which artists come together freely to exchange ideas on technique, subject matter, and sales initiatives. The NFIA will also raise money for local causes by organizing art shows, creating murals and public beautification projects, as well as donating works for charity auction.
The NFIA invite you to celebrate its arrival in Long Beach. The National Foundation of Independent Artists is local Non-profit organization created to establish and maintain a network of resources for artists by artists. These resources include, a working gallery as a base of operation, an already established link to city and private art functions, such as participation in private " invite only" shows, as well as city sponsored events. We also regulary meet to discuss issues pertaining to the artist role in society. We also share technique and sales initiatives. SPARTACUS (PART) “STARTACUS” (initially “THE LAST W”) blood and acrylic on canvas, 40"x 60" was created at January 6-7, 1994 when artist Nikolay Moltchanov purposely cut the middle finger off his left hand to create this painting.
First solo exhibition of “THE LAST W” happened at March 1994 in “Middle East” cultural center, Cambridge, MA In the year of 2003 “THE LAST W” was renamed as “SPARTACUS”.
“I just tried my best to prevent all this ugly bloody mess that is going on right now…” Nikolay explained in 2005.
The words on the Cross on the painting (on top) say: “My God, My God Why did You abandon Me?”
Nikolay’s own poetry on the front of painting (bottom left) says: “…He did knock on the door, He did try to go in but you were too busy to open for Him…”
Nikolay’s own poetry on the back of painting says (in English):
…I am a God. You killed me before and as you can see: I am alive. I did not die yet but already, right now I have been born anew. And if one day you see my body is not moving, do not hastily say: “So, he is dead,” because at that very moment I shall be standing among you. And I shall be the last one of Your Civilization to die. But then, after no living soul remains on this planet, I shall be the First born to conceive a New Civilization. Because I am a God…
