Artvoice BOOM! is BACK
BOOM Round 2: We've finished up with our weekly selections and have our four finalists: Hunger Anthem, The Tins, Colors in the Air, and The Frontline. Our quarterfinal show is fast approaching, and will be at Nietzsche's on Friday the 27th (the day after Thanksgiving). Doors will be @ 10PM with music starting at 10:30; cover is $5 (proceeds go to the grand finale prize pot). Note that Nietzsche's is 21+. Round 3 will be underway in early December. Remember, there are 4 rounds in all; so we're only about half way through. We still want to hear from you - so if you're in a band and you have not registered yet, please consider doing so! Visit the BOOM site to register!
BOOM Round 1: Congratulations to our first set of quarter finalists: The Albrights, David Cloyd, Carpo Phorus and The Fated Grey. The Albrights took the most votes and won the night, which lands them in the finals! Thank you to everyone, and to the bands, for coming out.
BOOM! IV will continue taking submissions throughout the contest. If you're in a band and you want to participate, go get signed up ASAP. The sooner you submit, the better your chances. Prizes in the finals will include a whole pile of cash, and a digital recorder care of Guitar Center, with some other prize packages being offered to each rounds' quarter final winners. Aside from the competition aspect, BOOM is here to promote LOCAL music, and we look forward to having a lot of fun with bands and their fans in doing so.
The only criteria for participating in BOOM is that you're a local act (local to the Buffalo / Western NY area), that you play ORIGINAL music (this isn't battle of the cover bands), and that you're able to perform your music live - winners at various stages in the contest will perform live in Buffalo area venues. We're open to any genre or style; the more variety the better. It doesn't matter if you've participated in BOOM before - we want to hear what you're up to now - and of course, we want to hear from newcomers as well.
