So it's 2009 and I'm keeping things moving. Last year a lot of great things happened but it's just the beginning. I'm excited about being given residency at London's Roundhouse with my new music night 'Strange Brew' & we'll be bringing you a series of innovative and boundary-pushing nights. We are committed to providing a platform for talent that is so often deemed "underground"... music that is important and needs to be heard, if you come down to vibe with us in Camden you'll also get to see my newest material.
Please check out my collaboration with the inspiring Nitin Sahwney, 'Last Train to Midnight' ~ Much Love going out to Bobby Friction & Nihal for supporting this track :)
Also Big Love going out to Nerm who chose 'It's Time Now' featuring Deadly Hunta as 'Hottest Homegrown Track' on Ras Kwame's BBC Radio 1 show in December & to Hue Stephens who also gave it a spin... let me know if you can hear the word that got bleeped out!
I also want to thank Reverb Nation for making me a featured artist... if anyone is looking for an amazingly simple, effective & free way of managing your mailing lists you need to check out Reverb Nation & Much Respect going out to THTC Clothing for the beautiful clothes. If you want ethical, organic & stylish threads you need to be rockin www.thtc.co.uk
You can check out my debut album which I released digitally on iTunes in September. I'm really proud that it got featured in their 'Best of 2008 so far category' ~ we didn't have a PR or Marketing budget and everything that has happened is purely down to people supporting a fully independent project which I am truly grateful for. I also printed up some limited edition copies of the album, if you want to smell the plastic please get in touch as there are a few copies still available.
After spending time out in Jamaica I'm excited to be announcing that there are some more exciting collaborations in the mix with some Reggae Royalty. After 'Struggling' reached the top 10 playlist on Irie fm last Summer, I felt a lotta love out there and am looking forward to revealing what I've been working on.
I'm also busy booking gigs for the Summer... after touring with the amazing NATTY & Fat Freddy's Drop it really gave me a taste of reaching a wider audience, I love London but getting out & playing all over is what it's all about right now! If there are any festivals in your area that you think I should be a part of please give them or me a shout :)
I'm still always looking for suggestions, independent DJs, promoters & PR people who want to link up, also musicians, artists and producers. Feel free to send me an email at arubaredmusic@hotmail.com if you have any ideas or just want to say hey... it's all about getting together & making things happen.
Much Love going out to you, stay in touch and don't let those who would, weaken you xxx
