Nursed on the teat of The Beatles and Radiohead, Arwin is an indie-pop band from Chicago that often draws comparisons to Rilo Kiley, The Flaming Lips, and Nada Surf. This rag-tag group of hotel managers and grad-school drop-outs came together with only one thing in common: a righteous sense of rebellion. This difficult nature led them to boldly stand in the face of the opposition with a common goal…to make good music. Clearly, the easier choice would’ve been to make bad music, but Arwin would have none of it…
Arwin makes sounds with guitars and drums and what have you, but here’s the difference: they’re careful about it. Three-part harmonies don’t fall from the sky! Hair-pin rhythmic turns don’t just happen by chance! Instantly memorable melodies don’t just come to you in your sleep (unless you’re Paul McCartney). Arwin’s vibrant live shows have created a demand for a recording, and since they’ve studied economics, the band has decided to supply. The band self-released their debut EP, entitled Bright Outside, in 2007. Four tracks recorded at Soma Studios in Chicago (home-base of Tortoise), the EP shows command of their influences and the span of their abilities. Arwin is currently busy taking Bright Outside to the streets, and planning to record their follow-up LP.

Homies! Thank you for the kind words and such. We should have a gathering of sorts soon sometime. Alliteration, Alligator-nation. Pardon this goofy mood. Cheers!
I sent you guys a message along with my friend request. It was in regards to the videotaped footage of M. James Kane tap-dancing to "Walking Fur Factory." I want it. I need it. I both want it and need it so that I -- nay, WE -- can share it with the world.
