Asbo Derek is a band not a bloke.
Described variously as ‘the Rezillos fronted by Jimmy Tarbuck’ and ‘the lovechild of Ian Curtis and John Inman’, Asbo Derek are basic, scratchy, energetic and the right side of a shambles. Above all, they aim to entertain.
Asbo Derek are a Garage Cabaret band: roughly-honed, piss-taking, honest-to-goodness noise with the spirit of punk and added-kazoo. They sound like a majorette learning to play the kettle-drums in a lock-up garage.
People watch Asbo Derek. They’re not one of those take ‘em or leave ‘em bands. Asbo Derek make you laugh and occasionally even make you think. Their songs are about the important issues in life: belligerent barbers, celebrity-bigots and the joys of out-of-town shopping. Most of all, they are passionately committed to raising awareness of the evils of market gardening.
Asbo Derek play drums, bass, guitar, kazoo and stuff. They have entertained crowds at a number of small – or should we say boutique - festivals (Glastonwick, Brighton Live, The Blyth Power Ashes) and regularly appear in and around Brighton, where they are based.
Watch out for the Asbo Derek Live Exploding Plastic Incontipad Experience. If you want to get on their Mailing List, drop them an email to: asboderek@hotmail.co.uk

Doubtless a little bit of the mother ship giving way under the strain of maintaining a constant geo-stationary orbit over its two drones....But I fear I've said too much.
Nice to see your profile's winter plumage, cats and kittens... As you know: CrackTown aren't, but if we were, we would. I think you know what I'm saying. Keep it gangsta, Foxy
Hey guys.... as far as i'm aware the soundcheck for Asbo will be at about 7pm. You'll have 30-35 mins to play with as far as set times go. We'll supply backline..We have a bass amp/guitar amps x2 and drumkit. You'll need to bring snare/cymbals etc. and keyboard can be DI'd if you don't have a suitable amp.
