Take in the breath taking signs of spring as you journey up through the hills of 120 to Renovo. Join us on May 2nd, 3rd and 4th for The Greater Renovo Heritage Park Celebration. Starting at 6pm on Friday we kick of the event with Kel Lomison and a round and square dance at the Recreation Center in Renovo, or stop in at Darleen's Dinner on Erie avenue next to the park to hear some good old fashion bluegrass and folk music played by the Blue Daniel James Band from Gettysburg, PA.
On Saturday we have many events going on, such as seminars from Bruce Teeple on the great Prince Farington and his bootlegger legacy. Bruce will also talk about the underground railroad and how it had it's affect on the area. Mr. Leonard Parucha will talk about the CCC camps during the great depresion. There will be photos of now and then of Renovo and the surronding towns as well. There will be yard sales, farmers market produce, Sheshequin Buckskinners encampment of the pre 1800's, demonstrations on tomahawk throwing, basket weaving, chainsaw carving as well as a huge list of artist playing from all over PA, such as Jim Colbert from Belefonte, Steve Horn from New Oxford, Joe Tokay and Adiel from Williamsport, The Fatman Band from State College, Rob Bomboy from Middletown, Stephen Craft from Beach Creek, Brent Malin from Pittsburgh, Phil Roher from Mount Joy, Hugh Ross from Montoursville, Collin Jones from State College and Stephen Bannon from Fairless Hill and Van Wagner from Tremont, PA. Enjoy the sounds of folk/country/bluegrass/lyric/christian and accoustic.
