Our public forum at the end of May 2008 was well attended at the Frontier Cafe in Brunswick. From 5:30-6:30 we had an informational session in the theatre followed by social hour in the cafe from 6:30-7:30. Music
OK, maybe not music, but some of the activities Ascend has organized over the past year include: 2008-2009 winter food drive with drop off boxes and social networking events to collect donations, Ascend took part in the United Way of Midcoast Maine's Winter Preparedness Program, Saturday, October 11, 2008 Ascend was at Bath Citizen Involvement Day to head up the voter registration table
Movies
OK, more about our forums than movies: Tuesday, October 7, 2008, Ascend and the Maine Association of Nonprofits (MANP) held an evening session to bring the nonprofit community into a forum setting in which area residents can learn more about the organizations working in their region and explore how they may get involved or simply learn about the work being done locally to improve our communities.

Actually, instead of TV we'd rather "Connect the Ascend Network through C.A.N. events, some local hot spots we've gathered at in the past: Seadog Brewing Co. in Topsham; Sweet Leaves Tea House; Brunswick, The Old Goat, Richmond; Montsweag Roadhouse, Woolwich; Sarah's Cafe.., Wiscassett and more to come... If you would like to have a C.A.N. event at your restaurant, cafe.., or place of business please let us know!!

Mission Statement: Connecting young people (20-40) living and working in Southern midcoast Maine to sustain a vibrant community. Ascend is an affiliate of the Maine State Chamber of Commerce and Realize!Maine, a program of the Maine Development Foundation. We are currently hosting a series of C.A.N. food drives at regional businesses, through March.
