About me: At Team Ascension NY we believe in using martial arts to have a positive effect on everyone's life. Building self-confidence, and health are very important; but we feel having fun and gaining knowledge are the most significant aspects of the art. Along with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu we combine elements of yoga, strength and conditioning, wrestling, judo, and sambo into our program.
BJJ promotes flexibility, strength, cardiovascular endurance, and all around good health. Individuals train BJJ for a variety of reasons: for self defense, for competition, for fun, for MMA, for health, etc. No matter the reason, there are many great benefits associated with training BJJ. Friendships are born, physical fitness is attained, confidence grows, etc...
Anyone of any skill is welcome. We have a competition team, train amateur and pro mixed martial artist, and hobbiests.

Who I'd like to meet: Men, Women, Teens, and Children interested in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
Core BJJ classes are to develop the most important aspects of BJJ. Positioning, submissions, sweeps, and all around building of fundamentals are emphasized. This class is a must for beginners but everyone is encouraged to attend.
BJJ classes focus on all of the techniques from the Core classes but go further by adding variations and teach more advanced techniques.
Join us for a day of food, fun and fighting. Check out BTC and meet our pro-fighters. Anyone and everyone is welcome. The UFC's Brandon Vera will be conducting a two hour seminar from 2:00-4:00. Open House from 12:00-5:00
