Founded by singer/songwriter Steven Sampila back in 2003, Ascot Fire draws their influences from several different bands, ranging from mid 90's rock all the way to modern pop, punk, & metal. The Chicago Reader described them as a "melodic assault of pop, rock, and punk combined with razor sharp hooks, driving rythyms, and catchy lyrics." Together with original members, drummer Justin King and bassist Jonathan Oseda, they have begun production on their latest EP, which is due out in the spring of 2009
"Ascot Fire have already received multiple spins on Local 101 and have toured on several different occasions, playing shows all over the midwest and east coast. This is in addition to the attention the band has received on MTV's Why Cant I Be You, Next, and Cheyenne. (TV shows are so the new music videos). Perfect breezy summer pop for your Saturday night, check these guys out now before their infectious power-pop propels them to bigger and better things. You KNOW how this city loves its pop-punk, right? If you need further convincing, go listen to "Something You Deserve" on their Myspace page."
