CSN	Aug 19 2008 3:03 PM The College of Southern Nevada Foundation received its largest donation in our college's 37-year history -- $8.2 million from the Engelstad Family Foundation to bolster our school's health sciences program. CSN Foundation chair Robbie Graham outlined details of the gift. The money will pay for a two-story, 10,000-square-foot addition to a health science building on CSN's West Charleston campus. The school's cardiorespiratory sciences program will occupy that space, which is scheduled to open in 2010 and will include teaching labs. Also included is money for new faculty and faculty training, research and planning for a bachelor degree program for respiratory and cardiac care education, and $1 million for a scholarship endowment for health sciences students. We will name our school of health sciences the Ralph & Betty Engelstad School of Health Sciences. Ralph Engelstad, the gaming executive who built and owned the Imperial Palace Hotel and Casino, died in 2002 of lung cancer. Betty Engelstad is his widow.

CSN	Aug 13 2008 10:19 PM CSN Alumni debuts in MLB with San Diego Padres tonight!!!!!! CSN alumni baseball player, Sean Kazmar, will make his Major League Baseball debut tonight with the San Diego Padres. Kazmar, the first CSN Coyote to make it to the big leagues, will be playing shortstop. You can watch him on cable station 96. The game starts at 7:05 p.m.

Alpha Xi Beta	Jun 6 2008 9:13 PM I mis-informed the Student goverment of the "Take Back The Night" date. I said Oct 3rd with is a Friday, the correct date is OCTOBER 2ND THRUSDAY! We just wanted to say thank-you for letting us speak at your meeting and it was very nice to get to know all of you. We would like to be included in as many activites as possible this year. We are really hoping for a mojor change in the unity of our college atmosphere.
