A.S. Goodwin hails from Runcorn, Cheshire in England, he has been writing song lyrics since the age of 14. After a few failed collaborations with other musicians from the International Songwriters Association in 2003 he decided to make his own music. Using Sony Acid Music Studio and samples and his own unique lyrics and singing style he created song after song. His first song, "Little Miss M" earned him an Excellence in Songwriting Award for the Song of The Year 2004 finals ("Dance Now Baby" also repeated this achievement in 2007).
His first album, "From 17 To The Web Of Dreams" followed, and since then he has composed, recorded and produced 11 albums plus 2 Remix albums and and instrumental album under the guise of Instrumas.

A.S. GOODWIN CHRONOLOGY
1983 - At age 14 Andy Goodwin writes his first song lyrics, sadly or thankfully the song "It..s The Cube(The Rubik..s Cube) has disappeared!.
1986 - At age 17, Andy joins the ISA (International Songwriters Association) based in Limerick, Ireland for copyright and songwriting advice and possible collaborations. Andy has written almost 100 songs at this stage.
1988 to 1990 - Andy uses his little Casio keyboard and his lyrics and makes his own songs singing into a cassette recorder. 4 ..albums.. are created on cassette, Andy designs sleeves and ..pretends.. he..s a real music maker in a band called New Dawn. The albums "A New Dawn" "New Dawn" "Rising" and "Fantasy" contain early versions of later material and unheard tracks including a cover of George Michael..s "Faith" and an ..unusual.. recording of Bon Jovi..s "You Give Love A Bad Name"!, Also at this time Andy started to sing and practice with brother Mike on guitars and worked on the songs "Days And Nights" and "Never In A Million Years" as well as practicing Bon Jovi songs like "Dry County" and "Wanted Dead Or Alive".
1992 to 1995 - Andy and Mike recorded some demos of tracks on a 4 -track recorder, including the bluesy "What Do You Know" and a cool version of "Summertime Blues". Mike was starting his own rock and pop covers band at this time. Andy was writing more and tried a number of collaborations within the ISA, with him writing lyrics to musicians songs, none of this was very fruitful.
1996 to 1999 - Mike had successfully formed a band and they performed rock and pop covers around Cheshire in England, they still exist today now known as Geckoloco. Andy meanwhile continued to write, reaching 300 sets of lyrics with many ideas for songs but no musical training or collaborators. He decided he had to make some use of this ..talent...
2000 - 5 songs were sent to the ISA for session musicians to professionally record so Andy could send to bands and music execs for possible writing gigs. Although the recordings were requested in a Bon Jovi style and were extremely good, Andy felt there was something missing in his lyrics, he didn..t get the same ..buzz..from hearing his lyrics in the same style, he was more creative than that.
2003 - Andy found a Sony ACID music studio program using samples, this was his chance to make his own music!. Singing his own lyrics and creating his own unique mixng of different styles he created 11 songs for an album. "Little Miss M" was the first track recorded and later entered in VH1 Song of the Year. He enlisted the help of dutch designer Dick Heere to create the sleeve for "From 17 To The Web Of Dreams" (Heere also helped create the following 2 album sleeves). A.S. Goodwin the musician was born. Upon great reviews around websites such as Garageband, he sold the album on CDBaby(this contained a version of "Under The Bridge" by Red Hot Chili Peppers but was withdrawn because of copyright). He sold 100 copies by word of mouth and from CDBaby and Artistlaunch. The second album "Give A Heart And Joy, Take A Break And Pain" followed later in the year and sold just as well but problems were arising.
2004 - "Little Miss M" received an Excellence in Songwriting Award for Andy and was a finalist in the Electronic category. More writing followed and a third album was planned to continue the success. Personal trauma including his mother contracting Cancer stopped this from happening.
2005 - Finally the third album, "Visualise" was released at Artistlaunch. The fanbase had dropped during the hiatus in 2004, and Andy had to start from scratch again. "Why Not" received numerous plaudits as a ..beautiful.. and ..touching.. song, Andy knew he could do any style and make others intertwine to make really unique music, he even ended this album with the Rock A Bye Baby lullaby. No matter what music was Andy..s release and his lyrics were getting better and better, as were the songs. After this no more albums were sold on these sites.
2006 - The year started with more personal trauma with the death of Andy..s mother to Cancer, but he used the music to escape the depression and let loose his emotions producing 3 albums in this time period. The 4th album , "Four 4 U", a 20 track ..mish mash(in Andy..s own words).. of old songs and new compositions including the heartfelt "Mother". This was followed by a first remix album called "Remixes" which contained tracks from the previous 4 albums. "Exit The Dark, Enter The Light", a 5th album in four years, followed towards the end of the year. Andy had dispensed with the idea of making ..hard copy.. cd albums and looked at possibly getting music on digital radio to be geard. Designing his own webpages and ..mini.. sleeve art and promo photos as well as promoting gave Andy full control. Myspace became A.S. Goodwin..s Official Music page.
2007 - The most prolific music year for Andy. The 6th album, "Rising From The Past" arrived featuring "Dance Now Baby", a track that again gave him an Excellence in Songwriting award for reaching the final in Song of the Year 2007. "Rockapoppafunkelectra" soon followed with signs of a relationship breaking down during songs in this set. "Te Amo, Lo Siento" is Andy..s rockiest album yet, lots of angry and mellow guitars citing the meltdown of a love. "Memory of Love" from this set is one of Andy..s personal favourites. A second remix album followed, imaginatively entitled " Remixes2", with songs from the albums 5 through to 8. Under the guise of Instrumas, an instrumental album was also created called "Instrumusic", Andy was touching all kinds of media and song styles and methods including making his own videos.
2008 - More albums and songs kept coming, the "Gemini Man Vs. The World" 3 album set featuring over 30 tracks was Andy..s biggest project to date. This was the ..new..assured and more confident Andy after fighting all kinds of troubles, some soft melancholy tracks intertwined with humour, and some inventive tunes make up this unusual but clever trilogy of albums. The latest A.S. GOODWIN album is entitled "Hero of the Strong, Enemy to the Insecure" and the second Instrumas album, "Instrumagic" were released on 6th June 2008 marking the 5th anniversary of the debut album, "From 17 To The Web Of Dreams".
A 3cd Greatest Hits package was released as a FREE UK fans only set in October, containing 67 songs spanning 5 years of A.S. Goodwin music.
2009 - The new year brought a new 13th original album entitled "I Am Me...Finally". Inciteful, thoughtful, introspective, reflective, positive lyrics fill the album. The opening track "Past Reflections, Future Dreams" explains the title and sets the 80..s feel to the album but in a refreshing way. So far in this year two tracks have been recorded for a 3rd instrumental album by Andy..s alter ego..s, Instrumas. The album will be called "Instrumedication", no release date is known as yet. Also in the pipeline may be some more suprises in the words of A.S. Goodwin himself, more details as they happen!. Also in January Andy set up the Facebook A.S. Goodwin music page with 20+ songs to hear and more pictures and videos.
