In the year of Our Lord 2005 it were (ex)-members of PERSONAL VENDETTA and FULL COURT PRESS that decided to start writing skull breaking music under the new name ASHEMA.
5 Songs were written and recorded in May at "De Studio" in Brussels and promo material was sent around to look out for a record company to take the band in. Right after the recordings the 5-piece started playing shows and were headlining their first 2 shows in Germany. Wrecking stages all over Belgium & Holland, during the summer and fall of 2005, the band soon gained respect for their hard and energetic performances.
Finally, at the end of that year,a deal was made with Genet records for the bands debut MCD, In A Heartbeat and an upcoming full length...
Anno 2006, Ashema split ways with old-time friend Roman due to personal and medical reasons. For a while it seemed they'd move on with the band as a 4-piece 'till they found a replacement in Kris...
The "In a heartbeat" EP was released at the end of June and the 5-pack was ready to hit the stage with this new-born cd. Yperfest, Vlamrock and Akkerpop were the 3 fests they played that summer plus numerous other clubshows.
September 2007,Ashema split ways with drummer Kenny and Youri,one of the vocalists,Kenny wants to spend more time with his wife and kids,Youri is nowadays in For my enemies where he can do 100% his thing,we wish em both all the best for their future plans,cheers bro's!!!
Oktober 2007,Bart stepped in as the new drummer...
The future looks bright as Ashema is gonna take it to the next level in 2008... The new songs are gonna be harder, faster, heavier and finally they will do what any band out there is looking for....... FUCKING TOUR!!!
