Hey asher, I am a fs battle rapper from Hamilton, NJ with a Total Recall fan page. We have a few mutual acquaintences. (I even recorded a fs with two of them & wanted to put it on my site but I lost it.) Anyway, I made a 37 minute FS album that has nothing to do with Total Recall. I pretend to be Em's fave rapper "Red". People want me to rap more like Eminem too & I'm not even white. Black people say that shit. Em's one of the greats, taking nothing away, but it's annoying when everyone wants me to rap like Eminem. At least u r white and sound a little bit like Eminem voice wise. Well, at least u sound more like him than me. The thing is though, Eminem gave us a key to free us from the bite Eminem culture that is currently infecting rap. One a song, he says his fave rapper is Red. I don't know who that is and as far as I know 99.9999% of the world doesn't either so I just pretend to be him too. You can do it too man. It needs to be done.
Regarding ur music, ur a real motherfucker on the beat but if I'm being real with u, just because ur a real motherfucker doesn't mean these suburban dudes talking about banging and slashing aren't real in an artist's sense. Or that someone form the ghetto that doesnt' do that shit isn't real. Look at Malibu's Most Wanted. That guy was a mediocre rapper (not us bad as everyone makes him sound but he ain't going to get a deal off of freestyles based on talent either, I'll tell u that) but the one thing he had going for him was that he was real.
