An open comment to all songwriters and musicians: We're all hungry for exposure, but when we agree to play for less-than-fair compensation (and I'm guilty of doing so) we are depressing the earning power of all working musicians. So let's keep this in mind as we book our shows, particularly in this area so known for its vibrant music scene. What is the value delivered? Do you deserve more?
