About me: Looking for some No Shame?? The next No Shame is our season ending Best of No Shame Theatre 2007-2008: JUNE 21. Remember: we won't be taking scripts for this one, since the pieces were the top 15 of the season, as voted by you. After the Best Of our next No Shame will be a special outdoor No Shame at Montford Park Amphitheatre on July 12. As usual, 10:00pm to do it, 11:00pm to watch other people do it. All tickets $5. Plus there's beer and wine available. No Shame Theatre is an open performance venue for original and compelling works of theatre. We take the first 15 scripts that come in the door at 10pm. If you're a writer, come to the theatre at 10pm with typed scripts. If you're an actor, come to the theatre at 10pm and tell people you're there to act, and you'll be cast. It's that simple. Dance and you’ll dance- you get the picture- the stage is yours! The only rules are 1) pieces must be short (under five minutes), 2) original and 3) can't damage the space or audience physically. Who I'd like to meet: Anybody, haven't you gotten it? We are shameless. Anybody.
I wanted to wait a week and see if I still felt the same, and yes, yes I do; that was definitely the best Best of 2007-2008 No Shame Theatre Asheville EVER
Just a reminder that our Summer Season continues this Saturday! Showtimes are 8:00 and 9:30 at 35 Below Theater (Underneath Asheville Community Theater). You can purchase tickets online by clicking HERE. Tickets are also available at the ACT box office and at the door. But they are selling fast, so get yours quick! You don't want to miss the funny this week as we feature our own British Invasion, an introduction to the Brown Building Movement, we visit the Afterlife, and discuss politics on a very special talk show entitled "F#@k Your Mother". We will feature the wonder drug Nothingatol, have a long look at the most manly broom on the Market: The Super Sweeper, and we will even have the Feral Lads sing some Barbershop Quartet. It is going to be an awesome show, and you don't want to miss it!
...I had this weird dream that a fella proposed marriage at No Shame... And did so about 4 minutes after telling an audience member he got it on with said audience member's girlfriend. Crazy huh?
No shame last night was great! I do believe that was the most sexually perverse event I've participated in since the last time I ate dinner with my parents.
Thanks for the add, Asheville! You are truly my favorite city that I don't live in, and I mean that with all sincerity! If I weren't trying to eke out a living as a starving artist in NYC, or spending my summers with No Shame Roanoke, I'd be living with you!
Thanks for the add--and thanks for bringing No Shame to Asheville. Let's do an artist exchange sometime! Come visit Roanoke during our summer session and do No Shame at Mill Mountain Theatre.
