Formed in 1999, Ashika are a five-piece PUNK/ROCK/ALTERNATIVE band, based in London, England. Evolving from their traditional Gothic influences,their music depicts an exciting new darkwave soundscape. Ashika’s early EP releases attracted immense interest, resulting in Ashika’s Ro Prasad, being recruited as part of the Killing Joke Sound System. Ashika’s studio recordings and live shows have included special guest appearances by guitarist Mark Gemini Thwaite (The Mission/Peter Murphy) and percussionist Talvin Singh (Siouxsie & The Banshees).The Ashika Sound System has worked together with artists including Jyrki 69 (The 69 Eyes) and Paul Raven (Ministry/Prong).
The debut self-titled album by Ashika is released worldwide on 1st OCTOBER 2007.
Over the next 18 months ,The Ashika Sound System have been invited to guest in both Europe and USA with: The Birthday Massacre ,The 69 Eyes, The Mission ,Killing Joke and the newly formed industrial supergroup MOB Research. At selected events Ashika will perform Live sets to be recorded for a forthcoming DVD release. There will be interviews with radio stations and magazines around and during the tour schedule.

Ro Prasad is a DJ/producer with the ASHIKA SOUND SYSTEM since 1999, a DJ with WILD promotions since 2003, a DJ with ROADRUNNER since 2004 a DJ/producer with the KILLING JOKE SOUND SYSTEM since 2005, THE MISSION in 2008,and THE WONDER STUFF in 2009.
Also a member of the group ASHIKA, DJ Ro Prasad makes GUEST DJ appearances in clubs, radio stations and festivals around the world. The most recent DJ sets include SIN CITY, GLOTHARAMA(with JYRKI 69), BLACK CELEBRATION and the launch of KLUB ASHIKA on 6th JUNE 2006.
Jaz Coleman and Paul Raven of KILLING JOKE have personally requested Ro Prasad to produce and perform DUB DJ sets.
DJ Ro Prasad has also been invited to be a guest DJ @ INFERNO, THE BEAUTIFUL DAYS FESTIVAL and @ THE FESTIVAL OF SHADOWS.
He is a current member of the BRIT AWARDS voting academy and was shortlisted to DJ at the BRITS 27 AFTERSHOW PARTY @ Earls court in 2007. He performed and produced ASHIKA'S Mother Earth ep which has been featured both on BSKYB in the UK and on SKYPERFEC TV in JAPAN, and is part of the now legendary KILLING JOKE DUB SETS.
DJ Ro Prasad is a resident DJ/PROMOTER for KLUB ASHIKA.
