The first seeds of Ashkhara were planted when Mark Kelson & Antza Talala met each other while touring the USA in June/July 2007. The two had an idea to create a band that captured the energy of all their favorite classic rock bands. Soon after the tour the two begain working on material and sending each other ideas through the internet as Antza is based in Finland & Mark in Australia. A very productive time began and the two penned 17 songs in a 6 month period. During the writing process Pecu Talala became involved and Ashkhara was Born.

Within the ranks of the band the members offer much experience with Antza being guitarist for 'To/Die/For', 'SoulRelic' & 'Eternal Tears Of Sorrow', Mark is currently guitarist and vocalist for 'The Eternal' & is also involved in 'InSomnius Dei'. Pecu is formally from SoulRelic and brings a heavy end to the band. Jaakko Silvast steps in behind the drums, Jaakko is also known for his work with Finnish Goth Rockers SaraLee & the brutal Kamara.

Ashkhara have just completed 'Soul Burning - Promotiona CD 2009'. Featuring 7 tracks, including a cover of the Icehouse classic 'Man Of Colours'. The band are currently shopping the promo around to labels and hope to release their first full length album in 2009.
