She may be all of 13-years old but Ashleigh Rae brings a multitude of
musical skills to her impressive and highly anticipated debut demo album
produced by Jemarte Entertainment. A talented musician who displays the
kind of prowess associated with someone twice her age, this Compton,
California native sings, and writes her own music. Ashleigh benefited
from having parents that are understanding and willing to do what is
neccesary to make her dreams come true, and wrote her first song when
she was only 4 years old!
A fervent shopper who has an obession with hats, likes to go to the movies
and "hang with her friends from time to time," Ashleigh's focus is very
much on what lies ahead.
"I'm so thankful that I've had such supportive parents who have
encouraged me with my music and I know there are a lot of other young
girls who want to pursue their own musical goals. I want to be a role
model. I hope I can help open doors for other young women and show them
how important it is not to give up on your dreams."
An ardent admirer of the music of Alicia Keys and Mariah Carey, Yolanda Adams, Whitney Houston, Patti Labelle, Mary J Blige, Ashleigh
is looking forward to having her music heard worldwide. "I guess people
are still surprised when they see me perform. Maybe they don't expect
me to sing the kind of songs I'm doing at my age or have a big voice to
come out of such a small person!" I've had a lot of creative freedom
in making my demo" Ashleigh says. "The fact that I've been able to
write and/or co-write the songs has been so great.
With a shy
smile, Ashleigh adds, "All I'm doing is expressing myself with my music"
and one listen to this 13 year old girl will leave listeners everywhere
in no doubt that Ashleigh Rae is headed for stardom!
