Mine were full of holes
and were replaced
by a widowed Christian
She dressed her sadness
in black
and it was beautiful.
And now my shoes
white
are such virgins
like she once was
I won't throw out my old ones
though
because I remember everything
about the years I had in them
I was alive
they crossed streets in cold
mornings
watched silently from bedroom floors
as she painted her eyes ready to leave
they didn't always dodge my vomit
stood on stages
and wished for the moon
looked at
the better versions of themselves
in shop windows
walked all the
breaking bridges of mine
heard all my lies
and carried all my best
moments
above all my wild wolves
and listened as I silenced my pain
and right before they were
replaced
they were still my most comfortable
but they had to go,
everything has its time line
I wonder if she'll re-marry
Check out my debut album at my website; www.ashleighsoutham.com.Talking about my music is like understanding the fundamental principles of tea drinking while dancing. Not an easy thing to do. Listen and you'll hear my influences, poetry and heart.
......Some music i make comes out and has its own little life, grows little legs and hands, walks around and grows up and changes, or goes back to bed, only to come out for food.....some live lives just for me, they're the favourites..
...so i've been consumed by music for some time now....i've studied it, listened to it, played it, fell asleep danced dreamed cried laughed sat pensively to it
My interest is in creating music that might make people feel the same way i do about it really....give something back i guess...
i've been in several different bands and musical projects. I've performed in a variety of places and a in a variety of styles....
......at the moment i'm in Melbourne working hard at getting gigs playing original stuff and covers that inspire me........ I also have strong ties to jazz music as well and play piano and sing a range of different jazz type tunes..........
.....music is perpetual, i just want to be a part of it.....
Thanks again, hope you do make it to Christchurch I'd love to see you live. Actually was wondering if I may have already, have you played in Christchurch before?
