I grew up in Fort Worth Texas. I went to Westridge Christian School (whose former location is now a car dealership) from Kindergarten through 8th grade. I went to Trinity Valley School from 9th-12th grade. I went to Texas A&M for 13th-16th grade to learn how to be a teacher. So that's what I did. Two years of first grade and two years of fourth grade. After having two principals that hated me and made the profession miserable and the fact that my husband got a new job, I quit teaching.
We moved to Little Rock where I am now nannying (is that a verb?) for an awesome family with three kids. It's basically the best job ever. Better than yours, I know. The four year old goes to preschool on Tuesdays and Thursdays so every other Tuesday I'm cleaning their house and every Thursday I'm cleaning their neighbor's house for some more money.
Back in the summer of '02 I met the man that is now my husband while working at Pine Cove Christian Camp in Tyler, TX. We started "dating" (and by dating I mean calling each other each night since we lived 6 hours apart) in fall of '03. He proposed in November '04 and we got married on July 16th, 2005. We lived in Texarkana, Texas for two years and moved to Little Rock in the summer of '07. We have a Rat Terrier named Jack, who is pretty much awesome.
Starting the Bottom Ten/Hates trend here we go...
My Bottom Ten:
10. Poker on television. It's ridiculous.
9. The sound of plastic bags crinkling. (especially chip bags)
8. Stepping on wet carpet or rug in bare feet. Yuck.
7. Improper use of grammar/spelling/apostrophes ("Your on camera" or "gift card's available" or "I done ate already")
6. The phrase "but, um"
5. The sound of a blinker in a car for more than about 5 seconds
4. Hearing the electricity that comes out of televisions. Not all people can hear it, but I can and it hurts my ears alot if the TV is on mute and I'm just hearing the electricity.
3. Swater (When somebody adds water to liquid hand soap to make it last longer. It's disgusting and pretty much makes me throw up in my mouth when it hits my hand. Please don't ever do that.)
2. Any mention of or having to go to get shots, give blood, needles, etc. Shiver.
1. Mustard
LOL! I was starting to wonder...even considered reposting my bulletin thinking you missed it the first time. No date set quite yet...we're waiting for a couple of work-related decisions to be made (his work...not mine) before we proceed with plans. I will keep you posted, though!
Ok, you've redeemed yourself! Thanks for calling me awesome. The photographer chick I work with is very proud you bought your camera at Bedfords, and not at Best Buy like we did.
So I went to your blog today cause I figured you had already posted interesting pictures from your new camera...only to find I'm referenced as a friend. I have a name :) And it's not just Greyson's mommy. I'm so hurt...I just don't know if we can continue this friendship.
So. These children whom you watch (whom?) I believe something... That they are the beginning of the next great pop boy band a la 98 degrees but better. 103.7 degrees. I miss you!
The boy is Andrew. He's been hanging in since August! I'm teaching classes for SAU. Last semester I taught early childhood curriculum, this semester it's emergent literacy and teaching reading.
