Ashley Windham is the girl who is poised to show the music world the “artistic energy” coming out of Oklahoma is just as diverse as its landscapes. Hailing from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma there’s no mistaking Ashley’s southern roots as a Sooner Born, Sooner Bred blazing trail woman with attitude. Growing up in the Midwest with a family who supported her in her dreams she brings to the entertainment world a rare blend of down home charm with a kick. She has always wanted to combine the sounds of her influences, not only to rekindle the vintage flavor, but also unleash a certain soulfulness she feels is missing in today’s over produced pop culture. From the time Ashley was a little girl singing the classics, she knew she was born to perform. Somewhere between Aretha Franklin, Patsy Cline and Joan Jett there is a unique sound being belted out of this talented singer. Her most recent adventures found her jamming with fellow Okie, Charlie Rayl, an acoustic guitarist. Performances included collaboration on lyrics and music by the duo who have pumped out an amazing blend of finger picking, toe tapping melodies bringing together a sound which fills your soul with the good feelings great music can do. If you have ever seen Ashley Windham perform you know she personifies the saying, “dynamite comes in small packages”. This firecracker lights up an audience with her gifted voice and out of this world presence.
