15th Oct 2009 7:30 PM at Fuel Bar - AMERICANA SPECIAL with ASH MOUNTAIN Wilmslow Road, Withington, Manchester, M20 Adm: free
Acoustic showcase hosted by Picnic Area. Our headliners are Manchester’s alt country stars Ash Mountain, described by Manchester Music as "bloody awesome, stunning you into hallowed silence with that deep and dark, sultry soul voice. Astonishingly good.” Cracktown bring anti-folk with maximum attitude to the good people of Fuel. Simon Parkin, Picnic Area’s percussionist, will be playing at least 2 sets tonight, as we welcome another of his bands, Delta Boy, to our venue.
Four more little sonic gems for your August pleasure are now available on the site. Blitzen Trapper, Boulder Acoustic Society, Jay Brannan and The Wiyos. Yet another fine quartet even though we say so ourselves as picked them out.
Good afternoon Ash Mountain. Free this Bank Holiday Monday? I'm playing with my band
at the Bay Horse as part of the Hungry Pigeon festival, we're on at
6.30pm and its £4 for an advance ticket so let me know if you fancy comin

Hello, we're back again with great new tracks on our page. This month we have some rural bleakness from The Roe Family Singers, the dark intensity of Eamon Dowd, a new song from roots legend Neal Casal and frenetic but compelling from Novillero on the delightfulyl titled but not-at-all-smelly Paco Rabanne. Hope you like them all.
Hello and a Happy New Year to you. An eclectic bunch of songs new to the site this month. The frankly uncategorisable Icelandic band Storsveut Nix Noltes, the sardonic lyics (plus ukelele) of Dent May. some dark folk from The Deep Dark Woods and emerging US singer-songrwiter Israel Nash. Hope you like them all.
