The word has spread fast about this young Sydney four-piece band, who first hit the stage in March of 2007 and quickly became a sought-after act by many of the top local artists, Their debut self-titled EP was released late 2007, with stand out Track “Anywhere But Here” receiving air play on JJJ and community radio networks. The EP has been a great building block and introduction to Ash Phoenix.
2008 saw the band develop and evolve and they have been lucky enough to cut their teeth and expand their stage legs gigging all around Sydney and Melbourne’s major centers and regional areas playing alongside some of Australia’s finest acts including: The Living End, Grinspoon, Gyroscope, Dead Letter Circus, Birds of Tokyo, Mammal, Trial Kennedy and many more.
Early 2009 saw the band head off to Sing Sing studios in Melbourne with producer Jarrad Hearman to see a brand new bunch of songs squashed into their follow up EP. Titled ‘COTTON’, this EP was released in June 09 by new independant label New Justice Records to a capacity crowd at Sydneys Annandale Hotel. Triple J took onboard stand out track ‘In a perfect world’ and as the band head up and down the east coast of Australia they have managed to put together a filmclip that will be released later this year.
As the warmth of this years summer creeps up, Ash Phoenix get ready to begin writing new songs for some new releases early next year.

Limelight is providing the visuals for Bellusira as they launch their new EP 'Enigmatic' at Blink on Sunday night and then at the Excelsior Hotel on Saturday night.. . Bellusira are accompanied by Lee from Head Filled Attractaion on guitar and supported by local Bands: Stodowa, Marlow, Geminine and Origin of Janken.
The Valley Fiesta will be spectacular as everyone comes together at what has fast become the leading venue for alternative entertainment in the valley. The bands are the best in their field and the best thing is the event is free. Between and after bands, Brisbanes finest alternative DJs come together and will be playing indie, electro, rock, hip hop and alternative party tracks until dawn.
