About me:
The Ashtabula County Animal Protective League is a not-for-profit animal shelter located in Kingsville, Ohio. Though not technically a no-kill shelter, the staff works with rescue organizations and other outlets to place animals in the best possible homes. Thanks to the generous outpouring of community support, not a single dog or cat has been euthanized for space at the APL.
We are trying not to euthanize healthy adoptable animals and we take in a large volume of cats, dogs, kittens, and puppies. Some months the dog warden brings us over 100 dogs!
The APL shelter, at 5970 Green Road, is open 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Monday and Friday, 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday, and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. The shelter is closed Wednesdays and Sundays.
The APL Mall Adoption Center is open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. every Saturday at the Ashtabula Mall.
For more information on the shelter or a specific animal (like Regis and Reba), call (440) 224-1222. The shelter animals are also listed with pictures at http://ashtabulaapl.petfinder.org.
