.. ..A-Side 45 is the brainchild of Singer/Bassist Reid Stevens. The name A-Side 45 pays homage to the hit single and record companies such as Chess, Sun, Motown, Stax and many, many others which arose from the 50's on through the 1960's. Reid Stevens was born Steven Allen Martin and was diagnosed with Limb-Girdle Muscular Dystrophy at the age of 9 which is a disease of the muscles. His instrumental talents have included Bass Guitar, Rhythm Guitar and Piano, but over the years the Muscular Dystrophy began to rob him of his strength, unlike many musicians who would choose to give up Steve chose to continue creating music and pursuing his dream of becoming a professional musician, he even began singing in spite of the loss of breath Muscular Dystrophy causes at times. He has found a way through spiritual strength and resourcefulness to overcome these obstacles in pursuit of his goals. As you listen to his music remember the insurmountable odds that he's fighting against and what effort it has taken him to record these songs without the use of Auto-tune and such devices. A-Side 45 is the musical project of Singer/Songwriter and Bassist Reid Stevens (a.k.a. Steve Martin). Reid has worked with various other musicians and has released four songs so far as a result of work in two different studios. The most recent sessions have produced the Reid Stevens penned songs "Home Sweet Home (tastes so bitter) and Hidin' Away", both were recorded, mixed, and mastered by Steve Riley at Smash Hits Studio.
