WELCOME! To my MySpace Page.

My name is Lisa Torres. I haven't always been as healthy as I am today. I was a big fan of eating whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted...chips, chocolate, cake, candy, beef, chicken, pork, white sugar, white flour, white bread, white pasta, dairy products AND no exercise what so ever. It wasn't until it all caught up with me in my late 20's. I started seeing the results of the typical Standard American Diet (AKA: The SAD Diet)...Headaches, Anxiety, Back pain, Weight gain, Acid Reflux and infertility issues (it took me forever to get pregnant) were the results. I went from being a slim 125lbs to being 150lbs with all of the above symptoms that came along with it. Then at age 30 I finally got pregnant and had a beautiful little girl. When I came home from the hospital with her, I was 187lbs and tried so hard for about 4 years to lose the weight. Of course, I failed.

When I turned 35, my back pain and anxiety just got worse and worse. That's when I new it was time for a change. If I was not going to change for me, who would? So, I had to take matters into my own hands because I just had enough.

So, what did I do?

PART 1 - MY FIRST STEP BEFORE TRANSITIONING TO A SEMI-VEGAN

* I stopped eating beef and pork and only ate chicken and fish (but only ate it twice a week)

* I stopped eating white bread and turned to whole wheat instead

* I stopped eating candies and chocolates and replaced it with healthy snacks

* I stopped eating regular pasta and replaced it with whole wheat pasta

* I stopped eating dairy products and replaced it with soy products

* I bought a pedometer and started walking 10,000 steps a day (which may seem like a lot but it is equal to 5 miles which you can do in about 45 minutes)

* I stopped taking pain medications and replaced them with herbs.

But, that was just the beginning. I wanted to jump start my weight loss journey. So, I went to google and searched for a program that would allow me eat healthy, the affordable way, without me having to spend a fortune everyday on expensive salads.

What did I find? A 14 day kick start program from a company called The Wholefood Farmacy. They have a program called the Tri Decathlon Delux Program. I was so pleased with the products. They were so delicious. I still buy them and use them as snack foods because they are RAW & ORGANIC, which was perfect for my transition.

So, what were the results from this drastic change?

* Weight loss * More energy

* No more anxiety

* No more back pain

* No more Acid Reflux

* A sense of well being

* Happiness Let me put it to you like this...If I can do it, any body can do it.

REALLY! You see, it's not about being lazy and making up excuses why you CAN'T DO IT. It's about not having any other choice BUT TO DO IT! If you do not go to work, how will you pay your bills? If you do not fill your car with fuel, how will you drive from point A to point B? If you do not make healthy changes in your life, how will get healthy? YOU CAN'T!

So, it was not a chore for me. It was a way of life. It was what I had to do....PERIOD! PART 2 - MY TRANSITION TO A RAW VEGAN I wanted to stop eating chicken and fish all together. So, I embarked on a 100% VEGAN Diet. That was great! But, I wanted more. So, I started exploring RAW FOODS and got hooked.

I am now what is called a RAW Vegan (about 95%) and LOVING IT!!! I love it so much that I became a Certified Raw Food Chef & Teacher. Now, I dedicate my life to helping people make the same changes that I did. I would be more than happy to speak with you directly if you need some guidance and encouragement. Hey, thanks for accepting me. Yep, I know Dharti. One thing I've learned from being raw is just how tight knit this community is. Seems like everyone's separated by no more than one degree.

I enjoyed reading about your transition to raw I had a similar path; Back pain was a recurring problem for me to but since increasing my raw vegan living food it has made it easy to decrease my weight (lost about 50 lbs this past year) and have not had a problem with back pain.

Hi Lisa,

I don't come here too often nowadays, more often on my Facebook page under Arianna Rose.

Come over there, it's way more fun and interactive...

I really want to get to know more about eating a raw diet and perhaps a gluten free diet as well. I am really interested in the future meetups :).
