INTERVIEW ON THE LOKL SHOW-1710AM-THE WIRE.OU.EDU:
http://theloklhour.blogspot.com/2009/03/asleep-audience-dream.html
*****"At times, the group parks it in the garage, taking cues from Pixies or the Replacements, specifically during the album's (Agent Change) early tracks. The songs then space-out into instrumentals such as "Cosmic Pyramid," which could serve as the soundtrack to a trippy sci-fi movie or emerge during a jam band festival."*****
Charles Martin-
The Oklahoma Gazette*****
*****"...Seeming like the aural equivalent of, say, dropping a tab of acid inside a bottle of nitro and chucking the contents into a concrete room, the roiling, propulsive music isn't easily described."*****
Preston Jones-
The Oklahoma Gazette*****
*****"...these guys are some of the most stylistically diverse musicians in existence!"*****
Abram --The 8088 Record Collective/The Binary Marketing Show
*****"Asleep, Audience ... Dream! is a prime example of the psychedelic debauchery that occurs when three talented multi-instrumentalists get together and make mindbending melodies and poetry. If psychedelic art rock in the extraterrestrial realm of the Starlight Mints, The Hex and The Flaming Lips gets you off the couch, then Opolis is the place to be Saturday."*****
Daniel Lapham-
The Daily Oklahoman
*****"...Asleep, Audience...Dream! arose to play a fantastic set that ranged from oddball songs, to a David Bowie old school cover (a great track from The Man Who Sold the World, and no, it was not "The Man Who Sold the World"), to things that simply were fun. It was my first chance to catch a full AAD set, it did not disappoint. "*****
About Asleep, Audience...Dream!(on CDBaby/itunes!)
-
Asleep, Audience...Dream! is a three tiered hive collective of mental deviants aimed at a full frontal assault on the established undertaking of musical performance. An onslaught of sonic vibrations unexpected from so few individuals will roll and pulse you out of your seat as the members of the trilogy swap weapons, so to speak, and take the listener from one rhythmic sound-blast into another through new combinations of one-minded rock-thought. Singer becomes percussion, percussion becomes singer/guitar, bass swaps too. On and on we go.
To put names to record, we have M. Sean Miller on everything, Chris W. Cody also on everything and Johnny Walker (yes, really--Jr. no less) once again on everything.
The talent of this group is to completely change the line-up from one song to the next, presenting another side of the collective without interrupting the mind flow of the Dreamer(audience).
Three distinctive writing styles combine to provide one explosive rock experience not easily dismissed or forgotten.
Asleep, Audience...Dream! has played many festivals in Oklahoma including:(NO/ON Spring Fest in '04 &'06, The Campaign for Real Music '07, NONfest '08, Zanzibar! Fest! '08, The Carnality Ball '08, Norman Music Fest '08,...) and The "Placebo Headwound: A tribute to The Flaming Lips" hosted by Wayne Coyne in Norman '04!!
AAD has toured regionally to support their Debut LP, " A Serene Parade of Gliding Minds" and their second full-lenthed LP,"Agent Change".
AAD was recognized as one of the "Best of 2007" on NONcast, a podcast on TOGInet.com, has done interviews and live on-air performances at 1710AM The Wire-Norman, OK and KOKH FOX-25 Morning Show.
AAD also played their premiere at The SXSW Music Conference (Austin TX) in March of '08 w/ a number of showcases with their label-mates/friends, The 8088 Record Collective, and plan to release a promotion compilation every year and support it at SxSW.
AAD has worked with or for every artist, venue, or band in our "top friends" and encourage you, the listener, friend, or random onlooker, to check out each and everyone of these great entities.
Unfortunately we're not gigging out as of now, due to financial reasons and pursuing other projects-We're not breaking up, just done for now.
Thanks for the love and support over the years.
