*****"...Seeming like the aural equivalent of, say, dropping a tab of acid inside a bottle of nitro and chucking the contents into a concrete room, the roiling, propulsive music isn't easily described."*****

*****"Asleep, Audience ... Dream! is a prime example of the psychedelic debauchery that occurs when three talented multi-instrumentalists get together and make mindbending melodies and poetry. If psychedelic art rock in the extraterrestrial realm of the Starlight Mints, The Hex and The Flaming Lips gets you off the couch, then Opolis is the place to be Saturday."*****
Daniel Lapham-
The Daily Oklahoman
*****"...Asleep, Audience...Dream! arose to play a fantastic set that ranged from oddball songs, to a David Bowie old school cover (a great track from The Man Who Sold the World, and no, it was not "The Man Who Sold the World"), to things that simply were fun. It was my first chance to catch a full AAD set, it did not disappoint. "*****

******"Want to hear something that is constantly evolving for the better? Asleep, Audience...Dream! does just that as they never seem to stick to a very specific genre for to long. This band has an very nice edge as it strives to outperform itself as the band moves perfectly in and out of normality. This band seems to constantly be in the process of evolution as it change its sound for the better by periodically changing rhythms and vocals through the same song. They do so with great outcomes taking you in for a wild dream like trance. This band grabs the audience and put them in to a sleep induced trance where they lead the audience in to the craziest of dreams ranging from the nightmares cause by depression about finding yourself abandon and also the strength to figure out that sometimes being alone is for the best and harvesting that power and knowledge. This Band is all about self discovery and trying to make the best of all the wounds and battle scars that have been caused in your life. The vocals and instrument found in this band are used very efficiently to create an imagery of a person laying down as they are smoking a cigarette going into a trip down memory lane to a trouble childhood uncovering the mistakes and grudges they still hold and learning to cope with them, accept them and finding that hidden strength through them. This band will lead you into a hypnotic therapeutic trip down memory lane. One of the slower sounding bands I have reviewed so far but trust me I wouldn't review them if I didn't felt strong about the quality of their music. While i mostly like harder sounding music this is some easy listening I can just chill with and enjoy. This band will be playing several showcases during South by Southwest including the SXSW Crazy & 8088 Record Collective sponsored showcase at Plush on Friday the 14th of March. So come on by and say hi to this great band and to me, Hugo, the creator and self owner of SXSWCrazy.com
Check out what the buzz is all about here"

Asleep, Audience...Dream! is a three tiered hive collective of mental deviants aimed at a full frontal assault on the established undertaking of musical performance. An onslaught of sonic vibrations unexpected from so few individuals will roll and pulse you out of your seat as the members of the trilogy swap weapons, so to speak, and take the listener from one rhythmic sound-blast into another through new combinations of one-minded rock-thought. Singer becomes percussion, percussion becomes singer/guitar, bass swaps too. On and on we go.
To put names to record, we have M. Sean Miller on everything, Chris W. Cody also on everything and Johnny Walker (yes, really--Jr. no less) once again on everything.
The talent of this group is to completely change the line-up from one song to the next, presenting another side of the collective without interrupting the mind flow of the Dreamer(audience).
Three distinctive writing styles combine to provide one explosive rock experience not easily dismissed or forgotten.
Asleep, Audience...Dream! has played many art festivals in Oklahoma (NO/ON Spring Fest in '04 &'06, The Campaign for Real Music '07, NONfest '08, Zanzibar! Fest! '08, The Carnality Ball '08, Norman Music Fest '08,...) and The "Placebo Headwound: A tribute to The Flaming Lips" hosted by Wayne Coyne in Norman '04!! AAD has toured regionally to support their Debut LP, " A Serene Parade of Gliding Minds". AAD was recognized as one of the "Best of 2007" on NONcast, a podcast on TOGInet.com and also played their premiere at The SXSW Music Conference (Austin TX) in March of '08 w/ a number of showcases with their label-mates, The 8088 Record Collective.
AAD has worked with or for every artist, venue, or band in our "top friends" and encourage you, the listener, friend, or random onlooker, to check out each and everyone of these great entities.
