ASongs Publishing – the benefits of signing with us…
ASongs was started as an independent music publisher by Garry Blackburn, with the close involvement of Dylan White – a team that had already started and successfully ran Anglo Plugging, one of the UK’s most successful and well liked independent music promotion companies and winner of several Music Week awards!
Since it started, ASongs has grown to become a modern, proactive, forward thinking music publisher. We also developed a relationship with Chrysalis, who became our Sub-Publisher for territories outside of the UK & Eire – a factor that ensured ASongs’ artists had the best partners looking after their work all around the world.
As well as ensuring that our artists and writers’ works are correctly registered with the relevant organisations (e.g. MCPS – PRS), we also ensure that they benefit from accurate administration and receive full and complete accounting for all income earned by their works around the world.
Using our catalogue of the best music industry connections, we can offer a wide range of advice – from recording contracts, producers, re-mixers, co-writers and almost anything else you can think of! This is part of a modern publisher’s role and something that we pride ourselves on. Our close relationships with Anglo Plugging, Southern Fried Records and Anglo Management mean that we can access some of the top music industry players.
We have also spent a lot of time developing our contacts with the Film and TV industries in the UK, US and around the world. Synchronisation uses in TV programmes, films, video games and advertisements can be a lucrative source of income for artists/writers. We regularly send out mailing lists of our works which has resulted in uses across all of the major UK TV networks in various programming. We have also managed to secure exclusive uses in some major shows such as Teachers and one of our tracks was used as the title music for the BBC’s Commonwealth Games coverage last year. Some of our artists have been used in major US programmes (C.S.I., Grey’s Anatomy & Men In Trees) as well as some film uses and TV advertisements for Motorola and Honda. We attended the BPI Synchronisation Seminars in LA last November which led to a number of new, exciting contacts being made with the people that produce some of the most successful programmes and films around the world.
