A Shoestring Promise is a band that lives through battling the odds against them. And you better believe there are odds against a band born in a small North Florida town where the only music listened to is what you find on MTV and CMT. The fact that the band started with every member still too young to get into 18+ venues was handicap enough. But this band has a passion for creating music that people will love. Gathering together sounds of today without becoming the clich copy band that has filled the new music arena of late. ASP has founded their strength on making catchy, upbeat and honest music that everyone can find a love for. They doesn't waste their time trying to impress listeners, instead they write music that is as straightforward and edgy as their live show. Their sound comes across as punk rock that does not get caught up in the pop punk trashcan yet still does not fall into the abyss of hardcore/emo music of today either. Each song is filled with raw, honest emotion that is genuine and real and comes from the heart.
Starting as a dream of front man Trey Williams the band was created and soon started playing in towns near by. With multiple line up rotations and some new faces coming and going the band has stayed strong and grown into a fan favorite in the North Florida and South Georgia area. ASP prides itself on not just having fans, but friends. If you see them at a show you will find them talking to fans because they understand how important they are.
A hard work ethic, the desire to be original and a genuine love for music keeps this band going and even has caught interest of some national level important listeners.
