"Only a handful of heads have encountered this mad beast of a band, utterly dark and sleazy lowlife nirvana!
The Aspar Reverse Defect is Kay Aspar, a neo-psychedelic renaissance man and the main writer and producer behind the project bearing the Defect name-usually accompanied by a clique of like-minded weirdos.
Aspar is an eccentric and a true anachronism purveying an archaic musical genre while simultaneously pioneering the impossibilities of sound. The songs are often based on simple, repetitive structures, often consisting of a simple chord progression repeated for the duration of the entire song. Aspar employs odd guitars, reversed vocals at times and an unholy alliance of post- psychedelia,blues-rock,electronic gadgetry and sheer weirdness to create a singular body of work virtually unrivaled in its daring and fluid creativity. The A.R.D. mixes melodic songcraft with distortion-drenched guitars,mind-bending sonic experiments and a droning, druggy haze.Despite its total lack of sharp fidelity, one thing it still has going strong in the mix is Aspar’s lead guitar blasting out relentlessly from the curtain of his amplifiers.Experimentation in recording technique, culturally diverse instrumentation, and varied musical styles has kept the bands momentum fresh, and their listeners guessing."
