Thompson, an assorted array of political groups and artists who try to push the boundaries of radicality and create a more interesting world. These include, to a certain extent, the politics of Leila Khaled and the People's Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), a revolutionary socialist secular group who never tried to kill anyone, the Weather Underground, an American Marxist student group who blew shit up around the time of the Vietnam War and accidently killed two of their own but never tried to kill anyone, the art of Joel Peter Witkin, Lee Bul, Paul McCarthy, Goya, Bill Viola, Sherin Neshat, Lee Walton, Duchamp is king, Chapman Bros, Damien Hirst, Ann Weatherton, Rosalie Gascoigne, Barry Mcgee, Sidney Nolan, Luigi Russolo(fucked up politics though), Robert Rauschenberg, Gunther Von Haagen, Tristan Tzara and Dada.
4 lead singers. 2 drummers, 4 guitarists, 1 casio player and a bassman. Not all at the same time mind you (we swap around a bit), but the 6 members of The Assassination Collective are here for a specific reason, and it isn't to fulfill the expected role of what the music industry passes as a rock band these days.
Isn't there more interesting things in life? Who do you think you're accountable to? What will you take responsibility for?
We are sick of the limitations imposed by elements of the underground rock scene that require censorship of anything too "political", which compromises one's apparent "coolness". We write songs about revolution in an age of disorder and a culture industry which keeps musicians and audiences blind to the exploits of capital. We also like to get fucked up and have A LOT OF FUN.
