Il gruppo nasce nel gennaio 2005 su idea dei chitarristi Toni Valente e Francesco Benevento e del batterista Nicola Palma, spinti dalla voglia di dar vita ad una nuova band italiana di rock duro. Il talentuoso bassista Carlo Feltro si unisce presto al trio, mentre diversi elementi si alternano al microfono durante i primi live della band fino all’arrivo del vocalist definitivo Federico Albano. Stabilizzatasi la line-up, comincia così un nuovo capitolo per gli Assedio, il sound si dirige verso un heavy power d’impatto e melodia, mentre il cantato passa dall’italiano all’inglese.
Il 2005 si chiude purtroppo con l’abbandono di Nicola Palma, che preferisce dedicarsi a sonorità più commerciali.
Anno 2006; stesura di nuovi brani e ricerca di un nuovo batterista si conclude con la chiamata di Daniele Donno. Continua l’ascesa del gruppo, che pubblica il demo “Prisoner Of The Time” e si fa valere anche in ambiti lontani dal metal grazie alla vittoria nel Piemont Rock Festival di Andrate ed al raggiungimento delle semifinali nel concorso underground Torino Sotterranea. L’attività live si mantiene intensa per l’intero l’anno grazie ad una trentina di concerti in tutta la regione. Nelle ultime date è Davide Carnisio a ricoprire il ruolo di bassista in sostituzione del dimissionario Carlo Feltro.
2007. La band viene prende parte ad un importante concerto benefico in Piazza San Carlo, nel cuore della città di Torino e viene invitata alla seconda edizione del Piemont Rock Festival in Piazza San Secondo ad Asti. Il brano “Desert Of Stones” è inserito nella compilation “Rock On Circle” II. Quando tutto è pronto per registrare il secondo demo, due infortuni consecutivi bloccano prima Benevento e poi Donno. Durante il periodo di pausa forzata Valente e Carnisio lasciano il gruppo. Niente però perduto e tra dicembre 2007 e gennaio 2008 Fabio "Metal DP" alla chitarra e Mirko Negrino al basso entrano in formazione.
Inizia una nuova battaglia, il ritorno sulle scene ad Avigliana nel gennaio 2008 è dirompente, e dopo un’ulteriore manciata di date nel torinese la nuova formazione registra a maggio il demo-cd “Sacred Fire”
The story begins in January 2005, on idea from the two guitarists Toni Valente and Francesco Benevento, plus the drummer Nicola Palma, pushed by the will to create an Italian band of energic rock. The talented bassist Carlo Feltro joins the trio, while differents elements take turns at the microphone during the first gigs of the band. Summer comes and in prossimity to a succession of concerts the bands find itself without singer; to honour the commitments they call Federico “Bellicapelli” Albano, well known metal singer in town. A new chapter begins, the sound runs towards a powerful and melodic heavy metal while the vocals change from Italian to English. 2005 ends unfortunatly with the abandonment of Nicola Palma, who decided to play more commercial music.
2006; composition of new material and search of a new drummer, found in the person of Daniele Donno. The ascent of Assedio goes on, they publish the demo-cd “Prisoner Of The Time” and their success grows also out from the metal scene with the triumph at the Piemont Rock Festival and the arrival at the half-finals at Torino Sotteranea, the biggest underground contest in Italy. The band plays about 30 concerts in all its region; during the last few shows Davide Carnisio plays the bass in substitution of Carlo Feltro.
2007. The band takes part to an important charity concert in Piazza San Carlo, in the heart of Torino, and is invited to the 2nd edition of Piemont Rock Festival at Piazza San Secondo in Asti. When all is ready for the new demo-cd, two consecutive accidents occur to Benevento and Donno. During the period of forced break, Valente and Carnisio leave the band. Nothing is however lost, and between 12-2007 and 1-2008 Fabio Di Paolo on guitar and Miko Negrino enter in the line-up.
2008. A new battle begins, after the last operation at drummer Donno’s leg, the band starts again recording the demo-cd “Sacred Fire” with new and old material.
