Sounds Like
Oh, I dunno - you'll have to tell us, cause I can never say. I guess we make fairly melodic and hopefully awkward indie rock which signposts early blur, pavement, krautrock stuff, new order etc. I dunno - does that sound right?
Assistant are a five piece pop group from Brighton who play offbeat, odd and tuneful pop music. They're not sure who they sound like, but are big fans of early Blur, Pulp, Low and the Pixies, amongst other things. Most of their songs are about feeling foolish or lonely, or lazy or drunk. They've played a bunch of gigs in London and Brighton and recorded lots of songs, some of which you can listen to here. If you like them then do get in touch and they'll send you a CD, or ply you with alcohol, or say nice things if you would prefer. The band also run an award winning blog, which you may like.
