Asterales is Nate Holt. I love the group dynamic more than anything but Asterales is an outlet for ideas and creativity when I'm on my own. I use Reason 3.0, Ableton Live, Native Instruments software and ProTools, as well as any other gear I can get my hands on. When I'm writing music on the computer, most of the time I am trying to teach myself something about the software and often the best ideas seem to develop when I have no idea what I'm doing. I love lush soundscapes and ambient textures, subtle and not so subtle electronics, allowing room for chord patterns and melodies to breathe in structures ranging anywhere from minimalistic to complex. I'm intermittently hard at work on my first (hopefully not the last) solo record, tentatively titled "No Still" and (also tentatively) due out in 2008 on Mixtape Meditation

Thanks for your comment. I totally understand about how much work a record is, and especially when you've got a day job. It's hard to have any creative energy left at the end of the day/week, and it does take a lot of energy not to mention money to do a whole project.
Hang in there. We took four years. But it's better to do it slow and right than to rush.

you should make sure you have your media player automatically play songs when people visit your page. I think it's turned off. sometimes myspace is gay like that.
I really like your composition styles, and melody lines. Maybe I should take some classes in music theory, as I only began playing keys for a short time. My background is in playing guitar, but that's a little different.
