"...Keeping it funky, psychedelic and sometimes on the verge of dance music, AstroChem show a real individuality and are sometimes out of sorts, with crazy lyrics and attractive sounds coming from all instruments. Combined, this is sure to blow your mind. They consider themselves a unit, the AstroChemist forming sounds and rifts like no other with a dash of fine vocals, an elixir for the ears, and excitement for the eyes, these strapping young lads are sure to get the place pumping." (fasterlouder.com.au)
"...will see psychedelic spacefunk masters AstroChem emerge from their respective laboratories to present us with their eclectic styles. Having taken Canberra's all ages scene by the throat and given it a fair slap across the face, AstroChem are an experience not to be missed. Wild, dangerous and explosive are just a few of the words you could use to describe this truly epic band. So sit back, close your eyes and prepare to be transported to the intergalactic universe that is AstroChem..." (BMA Magazine Issue April 16.09)
Since forming in mid 2008, AstroChem have taken the Canberran music scene by storm. Captivating audiences of all ages with their energetic live shows, the four piece have played at venues across Canberra, from Parliament House to the street theatre, as well as The Basement and the Phoenix Bar.
IO, the debut EP, was released to a capacity crowd at Woden Youth Centre on the 28th of November 2009. A musical beast, it captures both the band's musical mastery and their energetic live show. The debut single can be heard on their myspace and facebook page, and has been featured on the December 4th episode of Hit the Pavement!, an Australian music podcast.

Well you couldn't of done a better job. I so good man... it's on the verge of scary. Scary in a good way. We'll be seeing you tomorrow at the charity gig.
just wondering if you wanted to play a gig in January? I've got Turbulence on board and I've just asked west of the sun. I'll book the gig mid december cause thats when they are booking for next year. The dates I had in mind are Jan 8th, 22nd or the 30th. Whatever works best for you guys and the wyc.
You're ever so welcome guys, it was our utmost pleasure!
Thank you so much for giving us the chance to play along side you guys at your EP launch, we had an incredible time and I'm pretty sure we all thought it was the greatest show we've ever played, and you guys were fucking off tap, I've never seen you guys tighter then that before, it was phenomenal to say the least.
And seeing that this went so damn well I would like to invite you guys to play right before us when we release something, which will hopefully be soon . . .
Sorry for not making last night's gig, how was it?!?!
How may i acquire one of your succulent concoctions of sound? If I dont see you guys before PC3, if you could bring a few copies for jack nick and myself that would be awesome. How much are they?
If 'Tyrant' were a status update on facebook, i would click the 'like' option.

So, in conclusion: very happy to see you reach this point with the new EP, and i hope your launch is the best thing ever. waiting with baited breath for the rest of the EP. i'm sure it's laden with gold. and yay! you guys are fantasticalion
