AsTroKnoTicS is the brainchild of Jon Lancelot. Lancelot's musical exploits began in Miami Florida with the band Level Nine. After Level Nine's demise Jon moved north to Washington DC to pursue a new musical direction, forming AsTroKnoTicS. The music of AsTroKnoTicS is a combination of exopolitics, sci-fi, astronomy, trip-hop, punk, grindcore, ska, reggae dub, and abstract space poetics. AsTroKnoTicS incorporates sounds and philosophies from the farthest reaches of the galaxy, pushing the musical envelope to reflect the vastness of the space/time continuum and the unknowable void. Lancelot AKA Divinus and DJ Uncle Eric formed Astroknotics to capture the essence and energy of an insane rock band with the power and flexibility of space-age electronic music production. DJ Uncle Eric is a master of digital recording techniques, sample manipulation and audio engineering. He and Lancelot painstakingly crafted this new sound using secret alien scientific methods. Divinus is a spaceship pilot as well as a master instrumentalist and space poet. He writes most of the music and lyrics. The rare debut CD demo "We are the Martians" was co-produced and recorded by Danny Hurtado, a good friend and dope audio engineer. Currently the band is in the studio crunching numbers and looking to form a live super-band! Astroknotics is based in Washington DC, and plans to start an intergalactic marketing campaign upon the release of their album.
DJ Uncle Eric regularly appears solo, spinning dance music at various night clubs in the DC area. Keep an eye out for him if you are visiting the nations capital. For that matter keep an eye out for Astroknotics as well!
