A musical Frankenstein, created by the three Doctors who shall remain nameless. Brecon born and landing in Cardiff to acquire our third, we decapitate dancefloors around the capital city, Bristol, Swansea and the rest of Wales.
January 2007, when Snooze was born. We hand-cut our samples and some accapellas over a couple of Mr.Scruff tracks. Then after our third, more vocal member got hold of it, we added his rhythmical rhymed words on the top and made "Textual Healing" . What was born was our first album "Audio Cuddle". Creating a blend of Hip-Hop, Metal, Funk, Soul, 50s - 90s, Film Quotes, Soundtracks and Flat out Classics. Our second ever track, Mr.Scruffman, quickly gained the love of Cardiff's independent club circuit and an early version was even played out at Solus, Cardiff SU.
The title tracks from "Audio Cuddle" are free from the player lower down the page. (The full album spanned over 2.6 hours) -
Snooze developed with the help of Cardiff's party legends. Matty and Lexi Fresh, Disco Stu of stusparty.com and DJ Killer Tomato loved the tracks and stopped at nothing to get them heard by the city. Throughout the Summer of 2007, we got the chance to showcase our Mash-Ups in Buffalo Bar's garden, at the legendary "Buffalo Sundaes" parties. As the winter closed in, the darker, filthier, bass ridden, electronic 'Snoozes' developed. Chopping the latest bass heavy, dirty Electro House, Break-Beat and Fidget tracks over complete Cult Classics left the dancefloors in pieces. (NYE We smashed 3 of Cardiff's finest dancefloors, including a set with High Contrast and DJ Woody at Glo Bar)
2008 Saw our Second Album "Chip-Shop Hip-Hop". It picked up a recommendation from DJ Yoda in Hip-Hop Connection, made it onto the playlists of many of Cardiff's party DJs including DJ Killer Tomato [GLC Tour DJ] DJ Dan, and Kaptin [Chrome Kids].
It was played around the city in cars, on ipods and on Cardiff FM and was released to a limited edition audience in April 2008 through 'Police Public Call Box Records' With the artwork coming straight from the mind of Drone1, [Aperture Drum and Bass] the album launched at Glo Bar with an extremely limited 'Snooze Pocket Mirror' (For all those times when you just wish you had a mirror) Through the rest of the year we held 4 Residencies across the City - Glo Bar, Buffalo Bar, 10 Feet Tall, Conti's. and played at the Coal Exchange, Clwb Ifor Bach, Cardiff Student Union and supported a plethora of artists along the way.
2009 Sees Snooze playing alongside some of the Mash-Up heavyweights in Glo Bar's freshest gem "Big City Beats". We are also, of course, gearing up for the Summer with our highly anticipated 3rd Album - "Alleged Collusion". Look for a Snooze Mash-Up on an ipod near you in this Summer. Keep an eye out for us as and try and catch one of our shows, across the UK this year...

Recommended by DJ YODA in HIP-HOP CONNECTION November 2008:
"Chip Shop Hip-Hop' is a new mix by Astrosnooze that sets out its attentions during the first two minutes by mixing Pharcyde, Michael Buble and Gang Starr. Kerrrazay! What follows is freestyles by pals, Jay-Z over disco, Group Home, Britney Spears and Coolio. This is definitely kitchen sink stuff - but in a good way."
