Jay Jay Toybox with an occasional guest musician or two... If you play an instrument, or know someone who does, and would like to contribute to this project, see my blog, "Looking for Talented Musicians to Add to the Fleet."
Influences
Jesus Christ, the Bible, "The Pilgrim’s Progress" by John Bunyan, Carl Barks, Megaman (8-bit), the 80’s, cartoons, robots, pirates, ninjas, Muppets, Fraggles, and these fine bands/artists:
The Age of Rockets, Bryan Andrew, Ludwig Van Beethoven, Bleach, Bright Eyes, Copeland, Pat Deal, Dirt Bike Annie, The Duds, Bob Dylan, Gregory and the Hawk, The Huntingtons, Joy Electric, Erik Larson, Mae, Keith Mathis, Modern Day Miracle, Modest Mouse, Open Candles, Pedro the Lion, The Postal Service, The Ramones, The Rentals, Saves the Day, Say Hi To Your Mom, The Shins, Simon and Garfunkel, Elliott Smith, Sufjan Stevens, Tegan & Sara, They Might Be Giants, The Weakerthans, Weezer
Sounds Like
Unique indie-pop... undeniably catchy melodies set to spacious acoustic and lush digital landscapes... think Bright Eyes meets Pedro the Lion meets the Postal Service...
After being unheard of in the Minnesota music scene for well over a year, Jay Jay re-emerged with a new drive and a new music style that is hard to ignore. Drawing heavily from the close attention to detail of indie rock, the introspective reflections of emo, the story-telling of folk, and the fury of punk rock, A Sunken Ship Irony creates something undeniably unique. With deeply layered recorded tracks and a powerful live performance, this is one highly explosive act! Watch for Jay Jay on tour this summer, sometimes with appearances by a guest musician or two...

Glad you liked "The Idiot" ... good luck on the Dostoyevsky class by the way.
Thanks for the tip on the new music sharing site. I'll definitely check it out. I'm really working hard on these new songs (I know I've said that before,) but trying not to cross the line between paying attention to detail and being pretentious.
Right. My bad. I guess I got confused by your blog and thought maybe you were releasing a new Rainy Day Songs LP or something.
... I just caught a crazy lookin' bug in my room. He seems upset in his little glass jar.
Dostoyevsky novels can get a bit dry in certain parts, but whenever I finish one I say "wow" and study the book cover for about two minutes.
Bradbury is pretty excellent. I'd heard from a friend that a film was made based on Fahrenheit 451. I can't find any video rental store that carries it though.
