All members of the band have been playing since high school. We all work full time and just enjoy playing out and having a good time.
The band's goal is to spread the word that Rock and Roll is alive and well.
You will hear some good ole fashioned Rock and Roll mixed in with some modern Rock. This includes everything from Led Zeppelin, ZZ Top, Ozzy Osbourne, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and The Beatles to Stone Temple Pilots, Nickelback, Jet, Finger 11, Fuel, and 3 Doors Down...

We regret to inform you guitarist Eric Conn will be leaving Against the Grain as of October 10, 2009. Eric has done an awesome job on Lead guitar and vocals. Eric is the CEO of his own business which just signed a lucrative contract with NBC. He informed his time will be limited to his work and family. We wish him continued success with his company. Please join us for one of the remaining shows and wish him the best in person!
ATG would like to welcome Michael Shipley on Lead guitar and vocals. Michael has over 37 years of music experience. He has played with the band: Fast Forward which opened for national acts - Quiet Riot and Foreigner. Michael spent 15 years on the Washington D.C., Northern VA circuit with bands Free Spirit and Galaxy. He is married to Diane and they have two children: Blair and Kyle.
