    I love all books. Since this page is for a greek event I should probably mention something that goes with the "theme"... I suggest reading the Percy Jackson and the Olympians Books if you want to read some fun books that involve greek mythology. In the books the greek gods, monsters and new demigods exist today in our time. It sounds like it would be totally inaccurate to greek mythology but in fact it is very accurate and very well done and written. I love the series personally. Its written kind of like the Harry Potter series. The first book is aimed towards a younger audience and the books grow with the child, Percy Jackson, who at the begining of book one finds out he is a demigod and has to discover which god fathered him and sets out on his first quest. The first book is somewhat predictable as to the people, gods and monsters he discovers along the way (if you know anything about greek mythology) but the following books get better and better. Book 4 just came out and I am officially addicted. The movies will start coming out the end of next year, I hope they do a good job!

About me:

This site is primarily for the event Olympus Among Us. It's an SCA-like event although it is seperate from the SCA but similar in most ways. We thought it would be fun to get away from typical SCA/Rennaissance period stuff and explore Ancient Greece, Rome and the Gods and Goddesses that were part of that period. We need people that are interested in lots of fun and something new that would be willing to represent each of the main 12 Greek Gods and Goddesses. I am not sure we will fill each position the first year but hopefully this will be something thats so fun and new it will grow with time and more people will join us each year. 6/26---28 2009

Who I'd like to meet:

People willing to try a new ancient greek camping event. People that would fit the personalities of the Greek Gods and be willing to lead games and parties that would be fit for that God or Goddess. The God/Goddess positions we would like to fill first are: Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, Hera, Ares, Athena, Aphrodite, Apollo, Artemis, Dionysus, Hermes and Hephaestus.
