About me: I am the Club President and Head Coach of Athenian Athletics Track and Field Club in the Tri-Valley area. I have been involved in track and field since before I can even remember as I have over 30 years of experiences in coaching--including the Olympic Level.
I ran High School Track at Livermore High School where I set a few distance records in the early 70's and started my coaching career in 1975 with Granada High School where I won my first League Championship that year.
I moved back to the Bay Area in 2000 after Coaching in Michigan and learning under my mentor Bob Parks of Eastern Michigan. I also got to know Ron Warhurst and Fred LaPlante real well where they taught me an awful lot of information. But the real honor was having Clement Chukwu (Silver Medalist in 2000 games), Fabian Rollins, Trinity Townsend, Carl Brown, Jamie Nieto, Tim Broe and so many other great athletes all be apart of the club at one point in time or another.
