a thornless rose was given birth as a solo project by Blake Clay in 2004 and released his first two cds, "When all is said and done..." (released december 27th, 2008) and "Remember the Days" (released July 18th 2009)
a thornless rose has shared the stage with many different artists, both independant and signed. and has been on his own headlining tour with good friends Etna Green in the summer of 2008.
On November 7th 2009 a thornless rose was given the opprotunity to go to the studios of Engaged Audio (recorded NeverShoutNever, Romance On A RocketShip, Party Like Summer and etc.) to record his 3rd 3 discs album this summer entitled "the boy, the bear, the ribbon" which will be released late 2010.
But Blake does not plan on recording the 3rd album alone. He is joined by good friends Sarah Kopp and Brandon Baker (Happy Times) to create the new name of "a thornless rose and friends."
Blake has decided that if he's going to continue in his music career that he is not going to do it alone, and since Sarah and Brandon both have experience in the feild and are both great friends of Blake's, he decided that it would be a great opprotunity for the 3 to create a new feel for "a thornless rose."
Blake is still looking for more members to help bring the full band effect out on stage, but for now will be working with the two friends that he feels are determined enough to make a thornless rose come to life instead of being stuck in his head.
A thornless rose will be on tour again this summer heading to the east coast and covering most of the midwest states, and will also be presenting the Basil Project 2009 (which will actually be taking place March 2010)
